Sorry I am two days late, but I only now got the chance to look into the files. THe formula for food consumption is:


1.1*(Number of Pops * Growth Cost^1.28)/Growth Cost, where Growth Cost is the food stock required per population scaled by Game Speed, so 300 on normal or 150 on fast.


I have verified the accuracy of this forumla in game as well.



So unfortunately not exactly a number you can easily eyeball during a game.
