I hope so as well, and based on the path they are going so far, to me at least it looks likely within 2-4 weeks.

On their social media pages each week(usually thurs or fri) they are posting one of their previously released pictures with a question. There is only 1 so far they have not used, plus the 1 that was posted by an interview, leaving 2 weeks.

They could change that any point, either posting something completely new or going on a short hiatus and suddenly release something, who knows! But we definately have our eyes peeled and are excited for more details. They do say patience is a virtue...

I want to know how the district system will work in this game so bad.  It's one of the more esoteric things about EL in terms of knowing which shapes optimize your yields.  Not saying that's a bad thing, it's interesting without being too complex or time consuming.  But maybe there's a better way...

I wish we had more information on which cultures will be available in what era, how changing to a different culture will work and how it will affect you and other things like that. The fame system also sounds very promising.

I'm very intrigued on how they are going to handle cities and especially the "city merging" feature. I see that as a real solution to the late game tedium of controlling too many cities.

Can anyone tell, if there will be "Natural Wonders" like The Great Barrier Reef, Mount Everest etc. etc. ?

To sum up the new things (or just ones I don't remember) in the article:

  • Fame is apparently hidden until the end of the game.
  • England and Phonecia are both navel focused cultures.
  • China is divided into Zhou, Ming, and PRC.
  • Resources weren't in the demo yet, but there were a few volcanos.
  • Very simple developments and buildings, due to pre-alpha.
  • You can control units individually in battle.

Fame being hidden is interesting, argueably great for immersion sake, but for those playing to win there must be a way to at least gage how you are stacking against the competition.

Maybe you know your own fame but don't know your opponants? Hidden sources of fame that are only revealed at the end, sort of like the points you get for Longest Road in Settlers of Catan? Like, you don't know for sure who had the largest empire ever until later in the game or whose art will have the greatest impact on the world. Maybe this could give you a benefit to archaeology, it would help you figure out how much fame your opponants have gathered?

I hope that you can actually see the progress your Culture does on the map. So for example, quarries are displayed after you built them, or aquaeducts etc. This is something that has a huge effect on immersion and is one point that the most recent preview in this thread criticized.

The screenshots we have seen have had a variety of different farms/plantations and different building types in the cities, not to mention wonders. The interview you are referenceing says that they were probably just not apart of that demo since it is still quite early yet. I do agree though with the aqueduct visual though, those are always neat to see.

Humankind already looks incredibly pretty and Iove the artstyle. The cities actually look like cities and I like the little things like the cacti- lined alley in the city in the new screenshot.

And those beautiful farm fields outside the city walls.  I really love the slight touch of realism in these. I'm really in digging the whole artstyle :)

I just noticed that if you look very closely you can see people walking around in the city.

The spam has been cleaned up. Sorry for the inconvenience.

These things just never have the courtesy of showing up during office hours.
