There are some bonuses in the game that affect Sea Tiles but probably should only affect land tiles:

  • Harappan LT: +1 Food on Food Tiles should very probably be land-only
  • Garamantes EQ: Fogarra gives +1 Food on Food Tiles in the territory and should almost certainly be land-only
  • Feudalism Technology gives +1 Food on Food Tiles.  Maybe this one is okay because fisherman could use that medieval boost too, eh?
  • Rapa Nui LT gives +1 industry on water tiles, which is fine.
    • I think this stacks with the Egyptian LT which is starting to get problematic
    • And this also stacks with SAWMILLS GIVING RAPA NUI +2 PRODUCTION ON WATER which is a bad idea!

I'm sure there are others.  Thoughts?

I haven't play tested it, but I imagine the same probably applies to the Haudenosaunee (+1 Food on Exploitation), Mexicans (+1 Food on Food per Hacienda), and Brazilians (+3 Food on Food), which incidentally is one of the most powerful chains of cultures in the game, imo. I know that the Haudenosaunee turn all exploited LAND tiles (including Mountains and Sterile Terrain, and interestingly also any tiles surrounding any Garrison) into Food tiles, which then gets boosted further by the Haciendas and Brazilians, but I'm not sure if it applies those bonuses to exploited coastal tiles, though I don't see why it wouldn't.

But I do tend to agree, I don't think that those boosts should apply to water tiles, even though it doesn't actually specify (as far as I know) that it is only supposed to be land tiles that these abilities affect.

Good points!  I could see the Brazilian LT applying to water tiles, and maybe the Haudenosaunee LT as well, but EQs like the Mexican Hacienda definitely make sense to be land-based instead of sea-based.
