Hello !

I have really high expectancy for Humankind as I love playing with history and I find the concept of shaping an entire culture through the ages really amazing.

After this open dev I'm looking forward to play definitive version of the game even more !

I'll begin my feedback with positive points.

I like the fact that your game doesn't feel too much like a game from the Civilisation serie. There a lot of differents mechanics that give it a unique touch. Great job.

The first age is nice, I like the nomad part and I think it's a good idea.

The civics were really nice, especcially not knowing how to unlock them at first. Same for the ideology system, it's an nice feature.

I also liked the trading system with different level of contrats with other civilisations. I'm also interested in the IA system.

Of course, choosing a new culture each age is fun and I liked it.

In the end it was also a nice idea to allow merging cities and building a huge wonder with several cities. You can really feel your civilisation improvement and common labor.

Then, a few things I would like to find in april.

I hope the encyclopedia will give us a lot of informations about cultures. I've found myself search several times on internet what was the cultures I've chosen or encountered. It's nice to give us the opprtunities to play less well known civ and it will be even better to learn more about them.

I think I'll would enjoy a mode where you and ohters civilisations will try to replicate what happens in the actual world (earth map, Historical starting points, historical choice of cultures... etc).

A summary screen of your civilisations would be very useful. In endless legend or endless space 2 we have some really nice summary screen that help a lot to manage the civilisation once it become big. In this opendev I've found it a bit harder.

I've found a few bugs but a lot of others players already described it in détails so I'll be quick :

In auto battle the era star count for unit desctruction doesn't progress.

The toggles deosn't reset correctly.

Big lag or crash when playing several hours.

I think I've experienced conflicts between controller mapping and keyboard/mouse mapping.

I've tried to keep the same culture even while changing era but I didn't get more fame.

And lastly some improvements/flaws :

Some preview features are not detailled enough :

  1. The impact of choosing a civic on ideology s is difficult to understand.
  2. A preview of the building 's impact on a city could be useful
  3. The first time, I didn't understand the way surrender works in a war. I think better informations should be added
  4. In general I think better tooltips or more tooltips could be a good thing.
  5. A preview of the effect merging 2 city will have is really needed. It cost a lot and except from saving, merging and then reloading if it doesn't pay off I didn't find a way to know what it will do.
It seems that food is not a really interesting ressource. Compared to other ressources it's not useful to accumulate a huge quantity.
I liked the trading system but I would like to trade more things than just ressources (money, ressearch, cities, units... etc)
It might be interesting to be able to conquer cities or become liege not by war (influence, money, trade... etc). I've feeled that war was the only way to grow after some point in the game.
150 turns was a bit much for this opendev. after around 100 turns my interest in this game was down as I was far beyond any other civ and I've research everything. So I didn't reach the end and I couldn't submit a feedback ingame.

I can't wait to play the definitive version of the game in april ! It will be a great game !

the game seems nice, but seriously, your portal with bunch of reward, buttons, options and useless fluff is a real pain in the ass, we just want click and play our games honestly

I still wasn't able to figure out how to properly end wars by the end of it - the options never seemed to have me keep the cities no matter what I did, and no matter how great the victory, it seems you're limited to only taking a city or two.
