i realized there was a cultural wonder i didnt have (basically i wanted to do the wonder-full-achievement and looked up the wiki-page).
So i found out i dont have the "great Zimbabwe"- DLC. Naturally i wanted to get it but i cannot find it anywhere. Its not on steam. Its not showing up on my G2G-page. I reconnected my steam-account with G2G, used all filters that may apply, searched through forum posts. I cannot find a download.option. I did get the amplified-DLC that i was also missing so, on principle i know how to get it and it works. Great Zimbabwe is just not showing up, at all.

You have to redeem it in the Rewards section of your Games2Gether account.  (There are also DLCs to redeem for other Amplitude games if you haven't done so already.)

Also please note that the wonder-full-achievement cannot be unlocked currently.

It is still bugged (the only one I miss basically).

And don't forget to also claim the Church of Holy Mary of Zion wonder as well.

thats the problem. It is not there on the rewards-section on my G2G-account. I grabbed the Church of Sant Mary already but GZ is not showing up anywhere. If not for the wiki-entry i would have no idea it even exists because its literally the only place it shows up for me (alongside forum-posts talking about it being bugged and such). I cannot get to  a place to download it.

Ah ok. I already thought it might be bugged due to the weird counter. However, now i am more interested in getting the full game, basically. Especially since GZ seems to be a wonder worth building (some are just really bad and not worth, at all).

Are you a newsletter subscriber?  I seem to recall that being a requirement at one point.

Newsletter?

(little rant you may wanna skip)

Man, i am getting to old to play games it seems. When i grew up you bought a game and then you had it and played it whenever you wanted. And when a DLC (we called it Expansion or Add-On, back in the day) released you bought that (it got marketed quite rigorously so you would rarely miss it. Also usually was quite big) and then that was that and you could be sure to have everything the game entails for, at the very least one year.

Now its like:
- when you buy the game make sure to check on the 5 different versions of it to make sure you get everything you want
- also check preorder-bonuses and limited offers
- regularily check Store page on steam in case something got released ninjastyle
- also dont forget to link your account to whatever platform the Devs are on, usually provides additional content
- also regularily check said platform so you dont miss anything that got released ninjastyle
- and, apparently also subscribe to the newsletter

Guys, I really just want to play a game. The full game with everything it entails. Let me pay you for every little DLC that comes out idc but pls pls stop being so goddamned annoying. I havent studied "playing games" ok? And i dont think this is a subject you need to get a bachelors degree in to be able to do it.

Doesnt help that G2G is a nightmare to navigate (i am not even totally inactive here but EVERY SINGLE TIME i am here i have troubles finding the menu that i am looking for).

(end rant)

Ok. Where to subscribe to the newsletter? (ofc i couldnt find it, see last sentence in my rant)

Yeah, I get it.  DLC in general is a pain.  I miss the days where I could buy a game and expect to get the entire game.  If devs wanted to add more content, then they would release a substantial expansion pack.  But here we are with things carved up into pieces and scattered everywhere.  Guess that's called "progress" or something.

WOW! You are a genius. That did the trick. Subbed and immediatly it showed. Kinda stupid, to be honest. I mean from a "make em sub our newsletter"-perspective. If i where to "manipulate" ppl into subbing my newsletter i would SHOW great zimbabwe and put a note on it: "only for newsletter subscribers". Looking at how i found out this DLC even existed i am guessing lots of ppl dont know of its existence to begin with.

as for the "rant"-topic:
I get that, in a stock-market-driven world its not the costumer who is king but the investor but the disrespect for ppls time alone... I mean, if i where to charge Amplitude for the time i spent searching alone for this DLC they would soon have to pay me to play humankind. And it definitly felt like work.... But yeah. We cant turn back time (and, technically speaking the possibilities in DLC and patches after release are great tools (they are just used "wrong") but we can, at least be vocal about it, boycott things etc. Not gonna boycott Amplitude because 1. they are quite alright in the big ocean of predatory businesses and also because their games would be really though to skip. ^^

I feel your pain. In good old days games had to come out in the most complete, most polished condition, otherwise they would flop miserably as there were no practical means to patch games easily after launch. If games were good enough and received well by players they used to present additional content as stand-alone expansion packs which usually did not require to have original game. If a game had a sequel it used to mean the second game was a substantially changed/refreshed, almost a whole new, game, not just a mission pack for the first one.

Nowadays I can't buy a Paradox game no matter how much I like to play it. They now first roughly complete development of games and start disintegrating them into infinitesimal pieces in order to sell each one of those pieces as separate DLCs. That's why I can't/don't buy games newer than a few years. I loved Humankind in Closed Beta, so much that it has become the only exception to this rule in my personal gaming history. I trust Amplitude is not going to flood Humankind with gazillion of DLC packs.

There indeed was no way to patch a game post-release, but I do not remember that mystical past of flawless games, I just remember chipping in with my school buddies to buy a gaming newspaper in hopes that this was the one listing workarounds for the bugs for the games we played. It was either that or restarting and learning to live with it.

There's a lot to be complained about digital market being readily available to us, but let's not go with the 'old times were better' narrative. Old times were different, that's it. There are some outliers that abuse the system, but steady stream of patches doesn't come from game devs on average getting sloppier, they come from the fact that with abundance of games they can no longer hope for their customer base to get itself saturated quickly with info on how to bypass the issues.

Nice!  Glad you got the DLC download working.  I'll agree that having the DLC displayed with a "for newsletter subscribers only" message would be much more helpful than the current setup.

fun thing is: it says it ingame. So when you check your installed upgrades and expand the great zimbabwe one it actually tells you that you got it from subscribing to the newsletter. Would be helpful to know beforehand, though. XD

@DNLH: agree. Technically being able to patch games after launch is a great advantage. I am also not against DLC per se. Its how they are done (often times) what annoys me. Since i havent kept data i can only speak of "felt truths" but games back then where a lot better bugwise on average. I mean what game came out in the past 5 years that was playable on launch? Its gotten really grotesque. Just like el-Fakir i simply dont play games at launch anymore because of that. Humankind being, by far the most recent release i am playing. I am not an "old times where better guy" at all. An example would be the lack of information before the internet got going. Do you remember 56k modems? etc. pp. But i am pretty sure the "bugstate" of games was a lot better back then, on average. Not bugfree and if a bug presented itself it was often times there to stay cause you couldnt fix it.

Tell me about it man. I agree with you and I also feel old. I'm only 35 this year and I just feel annoyed with a lot of stuff in general nowadays. I though DLC would be cool, cause now consoles can also get expansions that us PC users were able to get. Which turned into a money scheme now and because they make so much money every game has to have these micro transactions and timed downloads. Like I get the newsletter thing but I feel it should be on the community page and have a exclamation saying "hey listen, hey listen" so I know what to do. I also just heard about that and the other one. Also when I was subscribing I subscribed and unsubscribed cause says active and activated which for some reason I didn't see the change tell I clicked it like 20 times. I thought my browser just wasn't loading or something lol would be better if it said subscribed and unsubscribed lol I swear I have like mini dyslexia lol but yeah finally got everything but I feel it was all too much.

Is the newsletter bugged? Every time I go to the Newsletter page It says "Activate" I click it and it says "Active" No Zimbabwe in my rewards, not in my game. When I go back to the newsletter page it says "Activate" again.

Am I doing this wrong or is it broken?
