[PC/STEAM, V1.0.25.4236] Land Battle (Flag) For Naval Ambush

Sub navy ambush an army but cannot possibly take land flag. Also they cannot shoot back. (Another issue here is yellow is allied and maroon is unable to reinforce). Intractable battle.

WORKAROUND: reload and move subs.

(Note: I had to return to this turn and try to position my subs to recreate the ambush, but it's not certain it will reproduce).

That one land unit you had generated the land flag. With it dead you need to wait 4 game turns for the battle to auto end.

Not ideal, it would be better if the game allows retreating once you only have ships remaining.

The one land unit was reinforcements from the other side of the battle. On land. It wasn't part of sub fleet.


What is worse - though not a bug - is that those subs won't last 4 turns. 

IRL can partisans shoot down a fleet of subs?

In the game partisans can shoot subs but the subs can't shoot back so they are sitting ducks. Makes subs very weak units in the game.


While IRL U-boats nearly won the war for Germany in WWII. France should remember this.

Do you have the save for this battle. As stealth units, the subs should be invisible (and thus untargetable by the Partisans) in combat unless they had already been revealed on the strategic map, so there might be more going wrong here than the design problem with the flag.

There are the two autosaves from the turn of the screenshot and one before, but it's after completing this game. Bug report was posted then (not immediately).

So there is no guarantee the ambush will occur (b'cos in that game I reloaded and moved the subs and continued game until end).
