The new year has begun recently, and our long-time fans know what that means. In fact, some of you had already been asking us about it! The time has come once more for the Endless Day!
What is Endless Day?
Every year in January, we at Amplitude celebrate the founding of the studio. While the studio was founded with the dream of eventually making Humankind, it was also founded on the principle of collaborating with our community, and the Endless Universe. So, we call this occasion the Endless Day and invite our community to celebrate with us for about a week.
Now you might be thinking: That’s cool, but how are you celebrating, and how is the community involved?
The Endless Day celebration involves multiple events, some of them only on a single day, some lasting a few days, others the whole week.
- A free weekend! (January 16th – January 20th)
From now until January 20th, you can play all the Endless games on Steam for free! Whether you’ve had an eye on one of the Amplitude games for a while or have been meaning to get all your friends into the Endless Universe, now is a great time to do so! If you’re like what you see, you can even big up the Endless games and their expansions at a big discount. - Community Challenge (January 16th – January 20th)
Play Endless Legend or Endless Space 2 between now and January 20th to unlock community rewards. The more people play these games over the weekend, the more rewards will you unlock for everybody to enjoy. Never a better time for a big gaming session with your friends! - Endless Day Events in game (January 21st)
In any game you start on Endless Day itself, January 21st, you will be able to encounter special Virtual heroes! This may take the form of events, quests, or just a unique hero you can encounter. Once the game has been started, you can take as long as you want to finish these quests, and when you do, you will unlock the hero permanently! - The Paris Beer2Gether 2020 (January 23rd)
It has become a tradition for us to invite our fans to join us in Paris for Endless Day (though not always on Endless Day). There will be food and drink, and the chance to chat with the devs about your favorite games (hopefully including ours.) We used to have this party at the studio, but this year we’re moving out to a new, secret location, so if you want to attend, make sure to sign up. - Streams with Games and Guests (January 16th – January 22nd)
For everybody who cannot join us here or enjoy a quite evening with our games, we will be broadcasting livestreams on our Twitch and Youtube channels every day! You can expect to see us stream our games, but also guest streamers on the weekends, and special guests here in the studio. In addition to that, the Endless Legend Emperor Edition and the Endless Space 2 Digital Deluxe Edition are now free for everybody as part of the base game. We hope you’ll enjoy the additional content!
