I bought a Steam Link and a Steam Controller.

Overall, I'm quite pleased with them (planning to use them mostly to play Amplitude games and perhaps some racing games on my TV).

But I have this weird issue where the Steam Link would suddenly drop the resolution to 640x360.

I opened a support ticket with Steam, but they don't seem to mind about this very much ...

A bit more info about my setup:

- Windows 8.1 (64-bit) w/ all updates installed

- Radeon R9-290 connected to a Philips 32in monitor, running at its native 1440p

- Steam Link connected via LAN cable to a 50in Samsung TV, capable of 1080p (I prefer keeping it at 720p though)

The resolution drop can happen at any time:

- right upfront when booting the Link and connecting to my PC to start streaming

- in-game (happened a few times w/ Invisible Inc. and Dirt 3, but not w/ Endless Legend so far ...)

- in most cases after exiting a game and re-entering the Steam menus

Sometimes, I cannot change the resolution for the games (it would only show me 640x360 as available).

The only workaround I have is to go and restart Steam on my PC, which is a pain, since it's located at the other end of my apartment.

Any ideas ? Suggestions ?
