Regarding the stuff about the family being punished for your crimes, yes. If e.g. a father does something sinister, I do see no reason but active help in committing the crime by his family, why wife, son/s and/or daughter/s should end up paying for his sins.

Everyone should be accountable for his own deeds alone, in my opinion. Otherwise, even if you are virtue in person, someone would just need to get your stray brother to commit a crime for you to be punished. There's so many ways to misuse such a type of penance system...
I posted this pretty early/late. When I said that the family is punished, what I meant is that if the family reaps the rewards from the ill-gotten deeds.

If the father/mother are committing crimes and the family enjoys the rewards, but never asks how the money was "earned", then aren't they guilty in perpetuating the criminal activity? What about pretending that isn't the case or even acting ignorant or just refusing to see what's in front of them.

Accountability is mostly gone. People act without any care for how it affects others, and worse yet, look at how the banks got away with the crimes they did in the U.S.

Anyways, 3 things need to be avoided in order to maintain civility: Politics, Religion and Opinions.

Sorry for my b.s. rant.

The only thing I agree with in your post Nasrog is that politicians should be made to go to war with the troops.

I follow the theory that politicians start out having goals and ideals, but over time get corrupted. There are no good politicians on the national level. On the state level you might have a couple, and on the local level you'll have the best luck of finding the decent ones.

There have to be term limits, as in, a single term. That's it. If while in office you commit some kind of crime, your whole family pays for it as punishment. That's how you monitor their activities.

You get the same benefits as the everyone else. No special treatment from police, fire or medical. No super pay. No special deals in the shadows or behind peoples back.

Your kids go to the same schools as our kids go to. You have to live in the neighborhoods that you represent.

If you want to start a war, your family members have to participate, as do you.

Religions do not get an special treatment or exemptions.

There is more, but this is enough at the moment.

Does this idea make me crazy?

You are a patriotic and authoritarian Socialist.

I suppose i would describe me like that too.

The one test does not seem to find me that authoritarian

though.

My results:

You are a liberal Cosmopolitan. 4 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 96 percent are more extremist than you.

I admit to not knowing what that is, but it's hilarious that 96 percent are more extremist than me.

The 3d image is a bit unclear where the cross actually is, so I left it out.

Well... that settles it then. They both pretty much agree! (Not that I didn't know where I stand, but still.)

Also, according to the second website:

"You are a Social Democrat. 12 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 14 percent are more extremist than you."

I frankly don't like the 3D-plot of that website, since 3D in 2D is always ambiguous, but at least it's a lot more extensive.

What amuses me most, though, is that 13 percent are alike to me and 72% are more extreme in their views than me, according to the website.

Market socialist here. Lapsed member of the Socialist Party (England and Wales).

These kind of tests are always going to be flawed since whomever writes it will inevitably insert his opinions of which concepts are important and which are unimportant, as well as how to measure those axes via questions. A good example of a terrible test is the "World's Smallest Political Quiz".

I've been aware of this quiz for a few years and in my opinion there are many leading questions and a poor methodology (notably the questions about astrology and mysticism, which the test authors have lifted from sociological work on authoritarian personality types but which is out of place in a political test since political authoritarianism is a different concept). I think it pushes people towards the green box with its questions about globilisation and by conflating normative and descriptive statements (even when I was a Marxist-Leninist it put me on border of the green and red).

Here are a couple of frameworks which I think are far better in terms of what the axes represent:-

Politicaltest.net (my result below)

This one's weak point is the dumb labels it tries to stick on you, pay no attention to them.

This one's weak point is that I have no idea where it is from or if it has an associated test, I just really like the infographic

Okay, but you should replace "star cluster" with "star harem". smiley: biggrin

For everyone: Of course you can fill that harem with whatever you want. You don't have to stick to Raptoratio's preferences, at all!

should be added as a new faction.

Incredibly wealthy and only slightly less deranged, and only slightly less women by his side, Raptoratio was an Imperial trillionare who left to discover his own star cluster...
