A friend reposted a comic on Facebook from an XKCD comic from a while ago about the Mars Spirit rover.







This comic always makes me sad.



So, I decided to see what Spirit and Opportunity have shown us so far - and WOW!!!



The Wiki pages for both rovers have some downright AMAZING photographs from the rovers - not to mention that Opportunity is STILL FUNCTIONING - more than 7 years after it landed. Spirit ceased communication in 2010. Both were designed to do research for 90 days.

Man, that comic IS a bummer! Thank you for picking my spirits up after reading the comic with the fantastic photography from the rovers!
