When you open the door, there is small change that room is broken. you cannot power it with dust even if you have enough. room will be repaired after few turns.

Just random idea what i got. nothing else to say.

Or you could buy a bulb to a shopkeeper, and repair it instantly

Also, the electromagnetic pulse knocking out power in rooms is very similar to this.
