Dungeon of the ENDLESS™ is a Rogue-Like Dungeon-Defense hybrid game, in which your team of heroes must protect the generator of their crashed ship while finding their way out!
I was just playing the game and this Idea just popped into my head.
Not sure if it would be better to make as a new general enemy or an enemy unique to a new ship, but...
What if there were a monster that worked like the opposite of the Silic Crystal? It spawns in hoards ON the power core and moves outward, targeting only major modules and artifacts?
It would require players to build defenses even in areas filled with light and could possibly make for an interesting change in dynamics...
Another variant would be a monster that spawns on the power core and moves out to attack the closest hero
Make mobs spawn from the core would be a great change in the actual gameplay, but the idea remains realistic. You vision of the Silic Crystal's diabdoppelganger is a good example of a game breaking mob's behavior.
