The next patch will hit very soon next week and focuses on the multiplayer issues. Let's hope this is one of the features!

I know you guys said you are working on it as of 12/18, I'm not sure if you understand that the multiplayer game is beyond frustrating with no ability for people to reconnect and no save.

Please place yourself in our shoes, how would you feel playing a strategy game for 4-8 hours with friends only to have it destroyed because of no fault of your own and no way to bring a friend back into the game. It is so ridiculously demoralizing that it is making my friends not want to even play your game.

I'm extremely patient I just want to communicate to you for myself, my friends, and the rest of the community the extreme amount of antagonism this is causing and how important it is for you to actually do something about it. This might as well be a single player game until this is fixed as even my patience is wearing thin. There's no point in playing when a game can't even be completed.

This is the best post I've read on this issue. It explains it so perfectly.

I find it completely disgusting that they're taking this long to fix this issue while still advertising the game as MULTIPLAYER/CO-OP on Steam.

It's sad that they don't fix bugs quickly since this game probably doesn't have a huge fan base.

Definitely want this. I love this game, and I love multiplayer, but a lack of reconnection reduces the fun of the game, as does a lack of being able to trade. I had two characters, the other two players each had one. I accidentally killed them because I left too early (didn't know I could do that, I thought the button turned green when *everyone* was in the room, not just my two characters). One guy left due to boredom, the other stuck around, but when I didn't find someone for him to play in the next dungeon, he left. I could have handed him one of my guys, had that option been available. A way of letting people know that the green button only counts for them would have been nice as well, instead of finding that out the hard way.

Every game that I play in multiplayer has someone disconnect. And it usually is a tiny lag hiccup, not game crashes. And since you (or a friend) can't get back in the team loses a part of the research and a ton of resources, if we even want to continue at all. If the host fails, then its gg altogether. Instead of having the goal to complete 12 floors, we just hope we find a character we haven't unlocked yet and work towards that. (If the game keeps stable for a floor or 5.)

This has come to a point where we dont even want to play MP anymore. I really hope MP will become stable and with improved features soon. The stability is really needed. We can live with the nontradable items or even the non save mode for a while. But I can't stress the importance of a stable game enough, without that I fear this great game will be lost and forgotten soon.

As you can see, disconnects are happening every single multiplayer game. It's not occasional, it's every game. The furthest we have made it before it has eaten a player is floor 11, but usually it happens within the first 6 or 7.

As much my friends and I absolutely love this game the disconnect and no reconnect issues (there are more bugs as well) make multiplayer unplayable.

Yep,

A way to reconnect is really needed, it would also be great to have a 'save' file on the hosts PC.

And yes, a private game feature would be very good. Now my buddy and I always have to kick incoming players over and over again.

Got to floor 7 and it kicked my partner.... A bit frustrating, other than that love the game and please add private games so I dont have to kick solo players looking for parties.

Hello,

First of all, I would like to say that I enjoy the game very much, especially the multiplayer!

However, I think that a feature to re-join a multiplayer game after a disconnection/freeze/computer issue should be implemented as a top priority.

Indeed, in most of the successful long games (2+ hours), there is always at least one player having a technical issue which makes her/him disconnect/crash and leave the game as a consequence.

And since you cannot join back, you lose the game.

As a matter of fact, in my experience, I've never been able to finish any multiplayer game lasting more than 2 hours because of this. And I'm sure I'm far from being the only one ...

This is extremely frustrating, and I'm not sure I will play it again in multiplayer, as I don't want to waste hours of play because of an unpredictable technical issue that will potentially ruin our game.

Thank you in advance,

Simon.

i agree too!

This is very irritating to make 10 level with difficulty and see a friend loose the game for no reason at the very end (ping correct for us).

Personally we didn't make any multiplayer game after this crash, it's too frustrating.

Agreed, at the moment I'm just farming achievements in single player while waiting for some mp support! My only experience with it was a disaster, we desynched on floor 3, the dungeon exit wasn't appearing on the map (all doors were opened) and host couldn't pick up crystal, he was getting "Must find dungeon exit first" error (he could see the exit, but since I couldn't the game wasn't registering it).

This really should be top priority I believe, if the game wants to continue to be played. As the devs probably well and truly know, there's hundreds of games coming out each month on steam, and this little problem is something that will quickly push DotE to the shadows quickly if not attended to. I think this is a great game, unique, funny, and could be one of those cool and casual games you play when chatting about with friends on mumble. It's pretty unfortunate that there's no real support for multiplayer, not being able to save games or join games in progress is a pretty basic aspect that would allow multiplayer to function properly.

Anyway, hope they're able to implement this soon, because this game is a whole lot of fun! I just don't want to get to level 11 and have my internet drop out (as it sometime's does) and feel like the last 3 hours of play has been wasted.

Another +2 smiley: smile

Allowing a player that "disappeared" from a session to reconnect and find his assets back would be INSANELY useful, because:

- Technical issues can happen

- Network issues WILL happen (especially with Steam)

When playing with a friend on Steam, sometime Steam community goes down, and he appear offline for a few seconds. At this point he instantly gets kicked, although his internet is fine (mumble stay open and live). Allowing reconnection of a disappeared player or, if possible, simply not kicking him when Steam goes wonky would be wonderful.
