If you experience some weird lag/random disconnection in multiplayer, could you please try to lower your steam "max pings/minute" setting and tell us if it improved the experience?

So i tried this and got all my friend to try this and it still desynced after about 10-15 turns. Its happened every single game we have tried

I play multiplayer with my better half and we are constantly getting disconnected. We have tried this and seen no improvement.



If there is anything we can do to help troubleshoot we would gladly. We really love the game and the disconnects are a major annoyance.

What should people lower the max pings per minute to? Your example image shows 5000 as the automatic setting, my automatic setting is 1500.



The minimum is 250. I doubt this is the problem.

I'd like to chip in, multi gets desynced quite quickly all the time, yes. Sometimes it is not that apparent, girlfriend still fights, when fight is over on my screen, and i see her health get lower. But the most annoying one is the endlevel thing, when I click the exit, and she stays for many more seconds, fighting monsters, while I am already in the lift ages ago.



Please implement some sort of desync check, also sacve option for multiplayer. I won't mention the "can't buy or sell" issue that randomly appears as well.

It seems after the last patch the disconnects are far far more frequent, at least for me and my significant other. Is there a third party server it is required to connect to? In otherwords, if we are connected to the same network, is the game still dependent on the internet to sync/stay connected?

As an update, Saturday my better half deleted her local content of DotE and reinstalled via steam. Since then we have not had one single disconnect. We were getting them literally 4 out of 5 games. We have not had a disconnect since, including an escape on easy yesterday. If you are getting a ton of disconnects, I would recommend trying this.

We are also having the desync issues. Does deleting local content remove all the unlocked stuff?

hey there GFX47! My friend and I tried your suggested ping changes last night. He is in Singapore UTC + 08: 00 and I am in Washington State UTC - 08:00.



We both reinstalled the game for good measure. He was hosting. His original Max Pings / minute was 5000 automatic while mine was 1000 automatic. We both set to 1000 non automatic and had greater success staying connected to each other. Generally we get disconnected on floor 3. In this playthrough attempt we reached floor 6 feeling stable. Unfortunately we were cut short when an auto accident disconnected power to my neighborhood for the night. Sad for me and sadder for the driver! We hope to try again this evening tesing various settings. I will report back!



I should note this fix caused graphical oddities for me. On my screen mobs would seem to ignore floor layout, appearing to walk directly towards the crystal and leaving me unable to determine what was going on. I still consider this an improvement overall as I was actually able to attack the mobs that were in my room but appeared to be elsewhere.
