First Run Feedback

While small in scope and number of participants, the “First Run” OpenDev was a great success, thanks to our amazing community! Many of you were excited to finally try the game, and you were just as excited to let us know what you think. We’ve received a lot of great feedback from you, but before we talk about that, we want to share some interesting stats about the OpenDev.

About a fifth of you made it to the Procedural Factory? Honestly, not bad, given the survey shows many of you found the game a little too difficult. That wasn’t entirely unexpected, as the OpenDev version was intentionally a little more difficult than the first two levels should be in the final game.

The survey and forum discussions also provided a lot of feedback on balance between different heroes, weapons, and turrets, as well as user interface, and we’re thankful for the input on these work in progress subjects. You also shared many thoughts on the balance between action and tactics, which was an important aspect we wanted to test in this OpenDev, so thank you for all your feedback on this! Finally, many of you want to know more about our plans for multiplayer and the metaprogression between runs.

Our designers have been evaluating your feedback and discussing how to best address it, but unfortunately, between the Humankind release anniversary next week and GamesCom the week after (if you’re there, come to our booth to say hi and play some Endless Dungeon), we’ll be quite busy the rest of the month, so won’t be able to share more insights yet. We’ll be back with more info about these subjects later, though, so stay tuned.

I broke my back literally the day after I was accepted into OpenDev First Run and so I never got to play more than the tutorial. Sad times, but thanks to everyone that tried and died and tried again while I was healing up! Sorry to the devs for flaking out, it was a bad experience for me too.

Had a large nostalgia trip playing, can't wait for round 2 and I hope to actually 'beat it' the second time around. Thank you and can't wait for more.

Hey guys! I was pretty hyped about this game hoping for another fun and very strategic sequel to Dungeon of the Endless. It seems the graphics and music are going in the right direction but after watching a lot of hours of this OpenDev on Twitch it seemed more like a brainless mobile looter shooter than a strategic and complex masterpiece. Do you guys that also played the OpenDev have this feeling of a 0 brain "pew - pew - pew" cycle, compared to the old "strategic - tough decisions - fantastic atmosphere" cycle?

Sounds awesome! I love the little 'infographic' style picture, I always find the little bits of trivia interesting. I hope Endless Dungeon is here soon, I've been looking forward to it since I first played Dungeon of the Endless! :D

Just hope Dev side can really listen to feedback regarding Denuvo DRM, which very unnecessary placed in the Endless Dungeon.

What is the best way to still give feedback on the OpenDev Phase as I could not submit the form and there are a few points that I would love to comment on, but I don't want to breach any NDA.
