A client player can lose meta progression obtained during a run if they force quit (alt+f4 or ctrl+alt+delete and end task, or kill the game through steam).

Note: This does not apply to client players if the host ends the game during the run. Only if the player force quits the game themselves.

Step by step of the bug

Step 1

Have two players start a multiplayer game.

Step 2

Make some progress through the run and earn some meta progression.

Step 3

During the run, have the client player force quit (alt+F4, task manager, or force close in steam)

Step 4

Have the client check their meta progression in the saloon after returning to the game.

Hello, It happened to me just now; here is what happened:

After finishing the game with random group (3 man) I got stuck in screen waiting for host to continue (after end game videos) and couldn't get back to the saloon. I had to alt F4, restart the game, couldn't connect to previous session. 1h 45 min progress lost when I connected to my own saloon. Nothing was saved. Sad
I did so many unlocks.

Watch the end-game videos and get to the resolute of the run screen.

Step 4

On that screen wait for host to continue (counter goes down); nothing is happening.

I was in a co-op game with a friend and we went all the way to the core and fought the final boss but wiped. I finished Shroom's third hero chip quest along the way. My game crashed and so I had to relaunch and rejoin the session during the final boss fight. I got back in no problem at all and we tried our best but wiped. Once the session ended, I didn't receive any scrap or rewards that I had obtained throughout the run, which wasn't a huge deal, but then I realized I also did not receive Shroom's third hero chip slot, or the recipe for the drink. My quest did continue and now I am on the quest to use Shroom's drink during a run and make it to the core. Though this is impossible as I do not even have the recipe. So I am now softlocked on Shroom and can't progress, nor do I have the third hero chip slot.

Step by step of the bug

Step 1

2 person co-op group with a friend on steam, NA East

Step 2

Progressed to core final boss, finished Shroom's third hero chip quest.

Step 3

My game crashed (not the host, I joined my friend so he was host) and I had to relaunch and rejoin.

Step 4

We wiped to final boss. I did not receive any scrap or quest rewards for completion of Shroom quest

Step 5

Cannot do next step of Shroom questline because I do not have the drink recipe, or the third chip

Playing multi with friends, game crashes for whatever game crash it has then when I load up my character quest is complete but I didn't unlock the chip slot so my character is just -1 chip slot and on the next quest.

I was on a three-player run with my mates. My friend was hosting and during the game we beat Bug Momma while playing as Cartie and completed her second Hero mission. We reached the Core and after a handful of rooms, the game suddenly crashed for us. We restarted the game and my friend who was hosting booted the saved game where we'd left off. After dying, we returned to the Saloon and I noticed I hadn't retained any of the Cells or Scrap from the run, and while the game still stated that I'd completed Cartie's second mission, she didn't have her second Chip Slot unlocked. I then played solo for a bit afterwards, playing as Cartie, and I beat Bug Momma a second time and completed her third mission while in Life Incubator. After I returned to the Saloon and checked the Workshop, Cartie now had two Chip Slots, meaning I'd received the Chip Slot from her third mission but still hadn't received the second one, having skipped it completely. This character now seems buggered in terms of progression.

I've included a link for the ZIP of my bug report since I was unable to attach it directly here. As far as I can tell, I've been able to include all the files requested apart from the autosave, which I don't know if I'd even be in possession of since I wasn't the host of the session.

Step 1

Joined multiplayer game hosted by friend and beat Big Momma while I played as Cartie.

The game suddenly crashed after reaching the Core and we had to rejoin.

Back in the Saloon, the game still recognised I'd completed Cartie's second mission...

but I never received the appropriate Chip Slot I was supposed to get from the mission.

Step 5

I played solo and completed her third mission, and received another Chip Slot...

Step 6

but Cartie still only has only has two Slots unlocked even though all three of them should be.

Started a run with two mates on the 23rd, one of my friends was hosting and I played as Sweeper and completed his second quest during the run. We agreed to continue at another date, so we let the host save and quit normally, and I exited the game through the main menu. The game didn't crash at any point, nor did I force the game to shut down by alt+F4ing or nothing of the sort. We continued the run today on the 25th and after returning to the saloon, the game acknowledged that Sweeper's second mission was completed but I hadn't received the second upgrade slot. This is the second character I've had this happen to, though this time the game wasn't forced to close all of a sudden. Again, the game has skipped out on one of the chip slots and it doesn't seem like it's possible to get the three slots on either Cartie or Sweeper.

Step by step of the bug

Step 1

Started a game with two friends the other day, joined as client.

Step 2

I played as Sweeper and completed his second quest.

Step 3

We agreed to continue later, so we let the host save and quit the game.

Step 4

I exited the game normally by selecting the option in the main menu. No crashes or forced shutdowns.

Step 5

We continue the run a couple days later.

Step 6

Back in the Saloon, Sweeper's second quest is completed but didn't unlock his second upgrade slot.
