Being a big TF2 fan and an even bigger asshole a Spy main, I would love to see TF2 characters in Endless Dungeon as I did in Dungeon of the Endless. Please allow me to play as Spy in the new game, don't make me beg you.

would they work a lot like how Assassin does in SYNTHETIK? i'd be pretty interested in that, a lot of the tf2 characters besides bates were really lukewarm.

a lot of movement and positional based backstabs, you'd get some ways to distract enemies but i enjoy the concept of spy being a tight-moving hybrid character -- it'd fit well considering we're taking a topdown-ish perspective. chain backstabs also sound really techy, which is fine, dungeon is inherently techy.

if you need some further examples to how this works, jsat_ recently made a video on vermintide's backstab mechanics -- which some inspiration could be taken from.

I'd prefer original characters from Endless universe over TF characters.

But the class idea of an assassin with similar gameplay to synthetik's assassin would be pretty cool.

If any of the TF2 characters present in DotE are brought back, I'd imagine their kits might be different too.

Dell Bradford / Engineer having access to his signature buildings (I.E. Teleporters, Sentries, Dispensers) is something I'd find more fun.

Kaspar Herab / Medic having access to a melee that rewards him (Ubersaw), as well.

TF2 characters were part of the promo with Valve or something, I don't think they would make a return since they are unavailable in the switch version.

Even if we are getting Nintendo characters in the game, it will almost definitely be exclusive to the Switch version, unless someday first-party Nintendo games are going to release on PC, which I don't think is gonna happen anytime soon.

@RuYiNG,I see no problem with that either. It's fine if Nintendo will have it's own set of exclusive characters, which I on Steam will not have access to. Because I'm a noble and generous PC TF2 player, not some filthy Zeldaboi.

Personally wasn't a fan of the inclusion of TF2 characters in DotE as they didn't really fit and just weren't as interesting as the variety of in-universe characters. They ended up causing a weird double up on a few character archetypes which felt strange to me (e.g. Nurse Deena and The Medic). Love the design of the three characters we've seen so far for Endless Dungeon though.

I loved the TF2 heroes when they were added to DotE, and I'm generally a fan of platform-specific content as long as each platform is treated equally (shoutout to Radical Fish Games for the multiplatform secret quest in CrossCode). I've said everywhere that I want them returning on ED on Steam, and I stand by that even if it means they become little more than reskins of other "canon" kits, but only so long as each other platform gets some equivalent bonus.

In case of Endless universe,  I see these two options for backstabbing characters:

Endless Legends "The Forgotten":

Endless Space 2 "Umbral Choir":

Team Fortress is a game from another developer under copyright of another publisher, so there's nothing really much to discuss here, there's no reason for that to happen again ATM.

Eh, Valve can be pretty cool. They definitely aren't always, but they have their moments of community support. No harm in Amplitude/SEGA asking.

I'm surprised no one has asked for any SEGA heroes to be added though. That'd be sweet.

This isn't a question if Valve are cool (they are), but rather that Amplitude have no reason to ask for same borrowed heroes again.

Hey, if I loot a golden axe for one of my heroes, I won't complain.

Dear developers, let me bring to your attention another strong reason for adding characters from Team Fortress 2 to Endless Dungeon. As emotionally charged as I might be about the art of Endless Universe, I understand that you are primarily driven by financial considerations when you intend to release Endless Dungeon. Because, like any normal person, you want to satisfy your natural needs: eat well and sleep softly. This is completely normal and I support you in your aspirations. So what did I want to tell you? Remember the following games :

- Rage

- Poker Night

- Dishonored

- Killing Floor

- Don't Starve

- Alien Isolation

- Brutal Legend

- Sleeping Dogs

- Red Orchestra 2

- BioShock Infinite

- Hitman: Absolution

- Fallout: New Vegas

- Deus Ex: Human Revolution

- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

- The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

- Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Quite big names, aren't they? What do they have in common? All of them are available for purchase on Steam and anyone who buys (or once pre-ordered) them will be rewarded with a special item for Team Fortress 2, not otherwise available. As a rule, a hat in the style of a purchased game.

Team Fortess 2 has a huge audience, with a peak online player base of over 130,000. These people are totally obsessed with their love for TF2 and will sell their souls to the Devil for a fancy hat. I boldly rank myself among the army of these morons, because I bought all these games just to get hats. Take advantage of this, Amplitude. Gaben will easily meet you halfway so that you can win the hearts of TF2 players and make good money - for him and for yourselves.
