it's something i've wanted as a precedent since the original 2014 game, and with the sight of the sefaloros in that announcement trailer -- and i'd definitely like to see more advancements made towards factions which haven't had much of the spotlight in order for their lore, etc to be fleshed out. also, it'd probably just be .. really interesting to see?

i'm sort of riding on the concept that there'll be much more to do with it, assuming we're still riding on the FIDS system, and that we're still having similar base mechanics to the progenitor and coming up with ideas for the lesser-utilized factions.

to the surprise of no-one, i think my first personal pick has to be deuyivans, not much is known about them, and they don't seem adamant to share. given the situation, it'd be interesting to let such an isolated .. species? creature? whatever it is -- have to communicate with something that isn't apart of their social gathering. i'd like to hear other ideas, too -- since i know there's probably a handful of factions that get the short end of the stick. even if this is set pre-dote, it would still be plausible. also damnit, i got it wrong again somehow.

I'm pretty sure it was Sefaloros that was in the trailer, because they have those little beady eyes (?).

I'd love to see some Ka'Tik'Ma because we know a lot about where they come from, but not really about their society, and Kalgeros, not due to lore reasons but due to Kung fu Mardamari.

i assume they'd play similarly to golgy, then? no weapons with a good amount of base power and some other abilities to make them stand out. could be interesting if the item system exists and is improved on -- and some unique gadgets on them might make a very interesting class to play.

If that was a minor faction from Endless Space 1/2 in the trailer, then that would mean they were already in Dungeon of the Endless, as that Sphere with Tentacles Alien design was a time limited creature that would give you dust when pop'd back in Dungeon of the Endless. Granted, the Dungeon back in Auriga is a geneticist's fever dream of what we can assume are Blueprints for many of the Races/species on Auriga, so anything's possible with enough dust.

Yeah, the eye with tentacles that dropped dust in DotE is something different to the Sephaloros. And it's not like we can't have a character of the same species as an enemy you could encounter ie; Skroig being a necrophage.

I suspect we might see something from the Haunts given previous games so far.
