Currently you're able to communicate via voice-chat when playing co-op mode. However sometimes I don't want to talk (when I'm playing at night, for example). I was wondering if there are any plans to implement some kind of basic text chat to the game.

Chat it is a bit complicated, as the game goes as well in Consoles, so it is not like the best solution for both.
But there is a basic ping system you can use (on multiplayer you can press space in keyboard and you have the wheel)

I understand; didn't know about the ping feature on multiplayer, will try that out, thank you :)
