Hi, it’s me again. Same topic as with Humankind and Endless Dungeon: Denuvo.

Now that Amplitude is free from SEGA and therefore also from SEGA’s Denuvo madness, I’d like to kindly ask for a brief statement on whether Endless Legend 2 will come with or without Denuvo.

Best regards, Khaar.

As someone who still hasn't bought Endless Dungeon because it still has Denuvo...  I hope EL2 doesn't have it.

The good news is that I'm not seeing any games published by Hooded Horse which use Denuvo so it doesn't appear to be a publisher requirement this time around.

Just going to keep this simple and second this request.  Please don't.  Just don't.

Hooded Horse isn't known for using Denuvo, SEGA is. There is no Denuvo warning on the Steam page along with early access.

Were so back!

I have enough power under the hood that I could survive some Denuvo stupidity... but why should my LEGALLY PURCHASED copy of the game be unnecessarily shackled by copy protection that will be broken in a week by hackers anyways? Please leave that nonsense out.

@Khaar , you might want to clarify that you ask about commercially available release version.

I too would appreciate a statement on this.
Denuvo means I will not be getting this game, no matter how much I enjoyed Endless Legend 1 and how much I would like to play Endless Legend 2.

Thank you for not using that Denuvo garbage.

One of the things that got me (and most of my friends) playing the Galactic Civilizations games was that Stardock put their own games on pirate sites. Because piracy will ALWAYS happen, and DRM systems only hurt legitimate purchasers. Plus they stated in their upload that if you enjoyed their game, you should buy a copy of it, and should tell your friends about it. It was great advertising, as many people would buy a legit copy, and just the word of mouth from those playing the pirated version got a ton of people buying it.

I got the original GalCiv from a pirate site (it was uploaded there by Stardock themselves) and after some 50+ hours playing, I went out and bought the game to support them because I wanted more. I've bought all their games since.

I've done the same thing with the Endless games. I originally pirated the first Endless Legend, put a bunch of hours into it, and loved it. I went out and bought the full game, and I now own ALL the Endless games and Humankind. For countless people like myself, pirating games is about "try before you buy". I can't afford every game that comes out, so I tend to pirate stuff to see if I'll like it, and if I do I buy the game.

Some games do have demos, the issue is a lot of demos are very limited and structured, and many don't give you a real idea of what the full game is like.

So while I'm going to be pre-ordering Endless Legends 2, I appreciate it not having the horrific anti-customer DRM on it.
