I've had this happen twice now. I press "Manual Resolve" to fight a battle and it will jump to a "Battle ends in a draw" screen. I don't get to fight at all. Note that I had just retreated from a battle with a different army. 

What happened: minor faction attacked my weak army, who was building a temporary bridge. I moved a stronger army nearby with hopes to reinforce. Reinforce didn't come up as an option, I retreated the weak army. I then attacked the minor faction with the strong army. (just the retreating army).

EDIT: on the next turn the battle initiated but my hero unit, which was leading the strong army attack, was missing in the deployment phase.
