Hey everyone,
You have already heard about the Urkan, but their appearance has unearthed another ancient creature: The Mykara. An invasive organism discovered in the deep caves of Auriga, the reach of the Mykara has spread across the planet, a fungal web centered on their capital.
Growing Tall: A single City
The Mykara are a single, vast organism that has spread beneath the surface of Auriga, covering most of the planet. Yet all roots lead to Rome home, their capital serving as a hub for their physical spread and their consciousness. Consequently, the Mykara are focused on a single city and have to exert their control over the world by different means, much like the Cultists of the Eternal End.
Unlike their more religious rivals, who have to pacify villages and convert them with Influence, the Mykara do not have to be present near the areas they want to claim. As long as you have had vision on a point of interest before and it is located in a neutral region, you can begin growing a Fungal Bloom on it.
This will consume food for a couple of turns while it is growing, but once matured every Fungal Bloom will add the FIDS yields of its tile to your city, and provide additional benefits based on its type:
- Strategic and Luxury Resources: These Fungal Blooms will extract the resources for you.
- Minor Faction Villages: Placing a Fungal Bloom on a Minor Faction village will allow you to assimilate them.
- Ruins: Mykara armies can move instantly between overgrown ruins, similar to the Vaulter teleport.
- Watchtowers: Mykara Watchtowers provide the same vision as regular watchtowers and can be upgraded to improve their FIDS extraction.

Molded in their image: Assimilation
With the essence of their being located in their capital, the Mykara have little interest in the cities of other factions, though they may be interested in their people. After the Mykara conquer an enemy city, it will become dormant and overgrown with fungi. In this state, it will be unable to produce anything and will transfer its resources to the Mykara capital. If this is the first city of that faction the Mykara conquer, they will also begin assimilating the faction, gaining a new trait based on the biological distinctiveness they are adding to their own.

How will you spread your influence across Auriga? Will you snatch up unclaimed territory, or will you hunt down the other factions to assimilate them?
