Either not working or I'm misinterpreting the achivement itself.

Do I have to get carried? Ergo does my ally have to win?

I won multiple times in an allience and I never got the achivement on steam.

The way it works is that if you're the carry in the allied victory, you get your normal victory. Only the friend getting carried gets the shared victory. Thus, you need somebody to carry you to unlock the achievement.
