Hello,


I bought EL yesterday on Steam and my first gameplay was great. In my second gameplay, the sound was very glitchy and irritating, so I restarted the game and this time I had no sound at all. I went to the audio settings and found this message: 'Failed to initialize sound system'. My audio system is working fine and I can hear in any other game. I can even hear in the opening videos of EL, but when I reach the main menu the game goes completely silent. My audio driver Nahimic is up-to-date and I hadn't had any problems with it until I downloaded EL.


The game version is V1.6.10 S3.

From the Diagnostics:

ERR_OUTPUT_FORMAT - Soundcard does not support the minimum features needed for this soundsystem (16bit stereo output).

Now I'm assuming your soundcard (even if just one built into your Motherboard) has 16bit stereo output.

So it's probably something is incorrectly configured but could be something else. 


Not sure what to suggest, Perhaps try;

Control Panel -> Sound settings -> [default device] -> Properties -> Advanced tab
Set their Sample Rate to the 16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality) then Apply.

So, problem was solved when I uninstalled Nahimic. It seems that the game has some compatibility issues with Nahimic.
