I saw a post on steam that was reporting a fairly serious error outlined in the link below.

But basically, he killed ai nation that owned urkan. Urkan was not captured during war. He tried to capture later, but game became stuck after fighting urkan putting up a "validating opponent" sign. he reloaded, and the game became stalled in "waiting for empire".

Please address this.

This issue is old, but I am in the same situation. I took over the capitals of an empire (don't remember which one), then somehow some event monsters took out their other city, leaving them with just an Urkan, even though I got the "empire eliminated" message. I didn't try to get close to the Urkan, but now I can't load my game with the same message.

Unfortunately, I didn't realize that this would be an issue in loading the game, so I've long lost that autosave.

I think I have figured out the issue and will contact the devs with what I have found. This wont help you for your savegame, but it will prevent things breaking in the future ;)
