Good evening,

I hope not to have the wrong section.

I have updated the pc from Windows 7 Home to Windows 10 Home. From that moment I can not play to "Endless Legend".

I regret not being able to play more to this wonderful game.  Can you do anything?

Try starting the game in compatibility mode for Windows 7. :)

Hello Frogsquadron,

I tried but it does not work. I have also tried as admin.

You have some new ideas?

What type of error or crash are you experiencing when you try starting the game?

No error! I have a notebook with power cable, but it's like I have a desktop pc that I unplugged the monitor.

I suppose the main screen of 'Endless Legend' is loaded, I see the mouse pointer, but because of the black screen I can't interact with it.

I can just click Alt + Tab and close it.

The graphics card drivers are update. Also DirectX does not find errors.

This problem I have it even with another game that also works on Steam and I have also contacted the other software companies.

Do I reinstall the game?

Can you upload a DXDiag of your laptop, so I can get a better idea of what setup you are running?

I had the same problem with Endless Legend and Endless Space.  It turns out the Windows Update I received broke my vcredist files.  I had to uninstall them and reinstall them manually.  Both vcredist 2010 and 2012.

The Problem

I recently had a handful of games stop loading or getting stuck on their title screen after a windows update.  It took me about 2 days worth of troubleshooting before I managed to fix the problem.  It turned out that the update had somehow broken a few of my Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable programs, mainly vcredist 2010 and vcredist 2012.  Endless Legend uses the 2010 version of vcredist.  There are two ways to resolve this issue: repairing the files or uninstalling and reinstalling the files.  I will cover what is, in my opinion, the easiest of the two, uninstalling and reinstalling.

Uninstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable

Go to Control Panel > Programs >Programs and Features

Find these two programs:

- Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable

Uninstall both of these programs by highlighting (clicking) each and clicking uninstall at the top of the screen.

Reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable

Go into your file explorer

Find this folder:

Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Endless Legend\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2010

run both of these files:

- vcredist_x64
- vcredist_x86

This should fix the problem.  You may also need to do this for the 2012 version of Visual C++ Redistributable if you have other games that have similar issues and use that version.

Hope this helps.
