I've been trying to play the game for 3 days and keep experiencing crashes during gameplay.

I have tried as many of the "Common Issues" suggestions as I could.

- First time I ran the gamed it bluescreened on the faction narration. This has not recurred.

- Using 32-bit option results in game freezing rather than crashing.

- No "high performance graphics processor" option on my NVIDIA control panel.

- Tried -useembedded, still crashed.

- Tried -useshellexecute, got bluescreen.

- Tried "-force-d3d11", game started with pink screen.

- Attempting to reinstall .net framework 4.5.1 reports it is already installed.

Here's some info:

Specs: Windows 7, NVIDIA GTX 760, 1920x1200 monitor.

Version: 1.4.4 S3 (64-bit) with Frozen Fangs, Guardians, Shadows.

The game files (including a zipped crash report) are located here:

Unfortunately, I don't see any relevant info in your logs. Could you provide us with your dxdiag?

Could you please let me know if the dxdiag file was helpful (and if not, what to try next)?

BTW, I tried playing today, first turning down the frame rate to 60 (from the default of 100). Got to about turn 40 then bluescreened :-(

Hello,

sorry to hear that you're having issues.

When you get the blue screens, it should mention a file (such as XYZ.sys or something similar).

Could you write down that filename, and post it here? Maybe this can help us see whether the crash comes from the graphics driver, or somewhere else.

Your system specs are very good, however, I need to ask you whether your nVIDIA drivers are up to date.

Another thing to check is whether your GPU gets hot during gaming. Having the crash occur later after you limited the framerate could hint on less stress on the GPU, which means less heat.

Could you fry further limiting your framerate, e.g. to 30 fps and try lowering the graphic details to medium or even low?

Hope we can get to the bottom of this ...

EDIT:

Could you also try re-installing the VC++ Redistributable packages located at "\Steam\SteamApps\common\Endless Legend\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2010" ?

First I tried turning the frame rate down to 30, and monitored my GPU while playing.  The GPU usage seemed stable but it did crash again.  GPU was hitting it's "factory" target temperature of 80 C, at which point I assume some throttling started.

After that I tried reinstalling the  VC++ Redistributables (the only option was "repair).  Also turned the Post-Processing Quality down to medium.  This seemed to do the trick as I played for longer than before with no crashes.  GPU still seemed stable, but maybe just below 80 C.  Maybe throttling kicking in had something to do with the crashes.

Anyway, I'll keep an eye on things with these settings, and perhaps edge them up a bit to see if any crashes recur.  Can't easily cause bluescreens to recur, but if they do I'll report the filename here.

Thanks very much for the assistance!
