Stuck at single player loading screen indefinitely

Here's to hoping this support page is not as dead as my copy.

Just got the game yesterday on Steam, can't get into the game as of yet because it gets stuck at the loading screen: Connecting to Server, Loading game. I tried it on the tutorial and on the Single Player mode, no luck.

I've tried verify, uninstall/reinstall, I've tried changing the limited options it has, I've even tried Reddit for support, but I don't think there's anyone there.

- Windows 7 64 bit.

- Samsung SSD drive.

- Game version 1.5.13 S3 (64 bit)

- I don't have a game save because I can't get into the gameplay part

Sorry to hear that it doesn't work.

The last message in your logs is always:

Waiting for the game server to launch the game...

Normally, the next one (after that) should be: All game ancillaries have been ignited.

And after that, the World Generator (Amplitude.WorldGenerator.exe) should be called.

I don't know which exact resource it's waiting for.

Since you've already tried un-installing and re-installing the game, could you perhaps try disabling any anti-virus software you're using, and running the game as "Administrator" ?

Not running any antivirus software and I'm already the Administrator of my PC. Thank you for trying to help.

OK, I was referring to either trying this:

or this:

Here's a savegame file from a new game I started today (playing as Forgotten). Can you copy it to your savegame folder (it should be C:\Users\Remos\Documents\Endless Legend\Save Files) and try it out?

Forgotten - Turn 1.zip

First time didn't work, second and 3rd time worked, 4th didn't. -- Stuck at the exact same spot.

Run as Administrator didn't do anything, as expected.

So you managed to get it working twice. This is something ^^

There are a few workarounds left, maybe they'll help:

- Try running the game in 32-bit mode (Right-click on “Endless Legend” in your Steam Library -> Select “Properties” -> Go to the “Betas” tab -> Select the “32-bit” branch)

- Add the command line option “-useembedded” (Properties on “Endless Legend” in Steam client library, and “Launch Options”) and launch a new game (don’t load Tutorial).
- Add the command line option “-useshellexecute” (Properties on “Endless Legend” in Steam client library, and “Launch Options”) and launch a new game (don’t load Tutorial).
Please note that you cannot use both commands at once. You can test both but not at the same time.

If you get it to work again, a copy of the Diagnostics (***).html would be nice, for comparison purposes.

What does "-useembedded" do, because it seems to have fixed my problem?

Diagnostics (2017'01'23 @2052'29'').zip

Glad to have it working!

This parameter will force the game to use an 'embedded' version of the world generator.

Happy gaming ^^

Using "-useshellexecute" -- also works.

Not sure what 'embedded' version of the world generator means, but I hope it's nothing too...unorthodox.

Thank you very much by the way, glad to see the game has not been abandoned by it's community yet.

Also, another quick question if you don't mind. Is there any way I can change the advanced options that are not available in the game menu? Like 8x Antialiasing, why would I ever want 8x antialiasing killing my performance... Maybe ini files?

AFAIK, the anti-aliasing is tied to the quality levels. Beautiful gives you 2X MSAA, Fantastic gives you 8X MSAA.

You could try setting the AA in the nVIDIA control panel, but the chances are that the game will override that setting. Still worth a try, though.

Not just the antialiasing, I want to tweak the shadows, texture resolution and anything else that will let me optimize to fit my system. It is a PC game after all, I expected more than a couple of options. So no hidden ini files that can be tweaked then?

That's just sad...
