Issue: When starting a multiplayer game, EL freezes when I click Ready. I have to kill it in task manager, which kills Steam as well for some reason. This happens when I host AND when a friend hosts. Sometimes we make it to the loading screen, but it freezes on “waiting for server.” I’ve tried all the “try this first” troubleshooting steps (32bit version, -useembedded, -useshellexecute, run as administrator, compatibility mode, reinstalling .NET, uninstall then reinstall, etc.) I can’t see any issues with my router or firewall (my friend and I have the same ISP and the same router/firewall so I don’t think that’s the issue anyway.) I have zero issues when playing a single player game. I only have trouble playing multiplayer, and only when connecting to other humans. If I start a “multiplayer” game with all AI players, the game will start no problem.

I guess that these are the relevant line from the logs:

Amplitude.Unity.Session.Session:ISteamClientService_ClientP2PSessionConnectFail(System.Reflection.ParameterInfo, System.Reflection.ParameterInfo)
Amplitude.Unity.Steam.SteamManager:OnClientP2PSessionConnectFail(System.Reflection.ParameterInfo)
Amplitude.Unity.Steam.SteamManager:SteamClientCallback_P2PSessionConnectFail(System.Reflection.ParameterInfo)
Amplitude.Interop.Steamworks+SteamAPI:SteamAPI_RunCallbacks()
Amplitude.Interop.Steamworks+SteamAPI:RunCallbacks()
Amplitude.Unity.Steam.SteamManager:FixedUpdate()

If you're using the standard Windows 7 firewall, try disabling that:

- Start -> Run -> services.msc

- Look for "Windows Firewall" -> Properties -> Stop

- Set the startup type to "Disabled"

If it works afterwards, we'll configure a rule for EL.

I'd also try running both Steam and EL as "Administrator".

Out of curiosity: what's your Download Region in Steam? Is your friend's the same?

Are you using any antivirus+firewall software? Could you try disabling it before launching EL?

I assume that you network card driver and router firmware are up to date, right?
