Low fps at start menu, used to run fine

I played the game a long time ago and on the latest sale I bought the tempest dlc, so I just downloaded to play again.

As soon as the menu appears I get very low fps.

I remember that when I played, almost 2 years ago, I also had problems, but I was able to fix it and play perfectly fine, I have no idea what solved the issue back then.

I want to create a new save, so while the old one it's still here I didn't add it on the file.

Endless legend.rar

In the file also has a DxDiag for my specs along with the other files you guys ask.

I already tried the "Common issues, guides and solutions" with no luck.

Also tried to use a combination of settings.

Lowest resolution or maximum resolution I get the same amount of fps.

Force d3d11 get me a pink screen instead of the menu.

32bits beta gives the same low fps, if used togheter with d3d11 the pink screen remains.

Run as administrator made no difference.

I do have 2 monitors, but I'm on a desktop, the threads I found where all on laptops and the fix, forcing using nvidia on options, doesn't even show to me.

One thing I find weird is that the game is using 0 CPU  with about 680.000k memory on process manager, even at max graphic settings it doesn't change.

Thanks for reading.

PS.: I'm just waiting for a sale for Endless Space 2 to buy it, so just to confirm is the price going up after launch?

Are you using GeForce Experience, or anything similar?

Try running GPU-Z (https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/) in parallel with EL - what are the GPU and Memory Load values while EL runs? What are the temperatures?

Are you using the latest drivers for your GTX 750?

About the graphic card from the GPU-Z

At start menu for a few seconds

After a few more seconds and it stayed at that for about a minute

Then I looked at the configs, everything was at max settings btw, and then I closed it

I don't have GeForce Experience installed and by similar you mean overlays? The only ones are steam and maybe discord overlay is enabled.

Yes I have the latest drivers.

Thanks for helping.

The only place I see some load on the GPU is this : http://gpuz.techpowerup.com/17/02/18/stg.png

The last two show a power consumption of ~2% of the TDP, which makes me believe that the GPU is not "pushing it" as it should.

Do you have a game profile for EL in the NVIDIA Control Panel? Did you try changing the settings there?

Then there should be a global setting regarding performance: power management profile -> max performance : http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3130/~/setting-power-management-mode-from-adaptive-to-maximum-performance

In EL, you may also want to try:

- enabling / disabling VSync

- disabling the Post Processing Quality, or setting it to LOW

- disabling the Depth Of Field

- setting the overall Quality a bit lower

Load into the main menu

When the memory used dropped a little is when I changed it all to lowest graphic and disabled everything at graphic/videos settings

It stayed like that then I closed the game

Thanks again.

Aaand the FPS is still low, I presume?

Did you play around with those settings I mentioned earlier?

And one more thing: did you already try to disable the Steam overlay?

The first ss was start menu with max setting, by the middle of the chart on the second ss I had changed to lowest settings, so it didn't make a change from gpu side.

With steam overlay disabled I got an almost stable fps on start menu, but I could notice some drops, both seemed to have the same drops for max and low settings.

Then I decided to go into a match.

Since I was at max settings I was expecting some fps drops and it did, then I changed everything to lowest settings, disabled stuff and it had just about the same amount of fps drops.

Specially when looking around the map, zooming out on undiscovered areas would drop the fps a lot while moving the camera, close up on undiscovered areas would drop too, strange that the fps got a little better while it moving above the explored area.

I really would like a way to control better the quality settings, changing each one individually instead of them as a whole.

For the whole time I had GPU-Z running, here is a ss just before I closed it, the charts still cover all the changing of settings from max to low and back to max.

I need a program that records the fps, because my eye can only notice that much and with numbers it would be better to see the difference on settings.

Thanks again for the help.
