Hello. I play on a laptop and a desktop. I typically start games on my laptop and move to the desktop when the more primitive laptop starts getting bogged down. FOr this reason, I have used Steam Cloud Sync for years, without issue. SInce this update, the Cloud Synchronization is no longer occuring with Endless Legend. I will test Endless Space 2 once the update is finished and I intend to check some other games that I do have Cloud Sync enabled.

In the meantime, I just thought I would post this issue preemptively.

Endless Space 2 seems to be Cloud Syncing just fine. The problem only seems to occur with Endless Legend at the moment, and only since the update (I do own Supremacy for ES2 and Inferno for EL).

While attempting to manually copy the save file in question to a flash drive, I noticed every other save file (cloud and local) are .zip files while the newest saves are .sav files.

I hope this is significant.

The format in which files are stored has been changed to prevent antivirus and other protection software from blocking their usage, you may have heard about antivirus blocking map generation, because of the format and location of the files used, or even blocking people out of multiplayer entirely.
The game is still compatible with the old formats, it can read them just fine, but any new file created will use the new format.

This should not interfere with cloud sync, but we'll look into it, are you having problems with sync in general or with the sync of old or new formats? this point may be relevant.

Sync in general. I decided to load an old save, play a few turns, resave, and then Exit to Desktop. In Steam > Library, Syncing popped up briefly and disappeared, with no actual sync occuring. I retried the experiment going the Quit Game, then Exit route with the same result:

No Sync.

I manually transferred the save file from laptop to desktop using a flash drive and the game loads fine, the only problem seems to occur with cloud sync initiation upon leaving the game.

Hi!

Thanks for the report. That issue should be fixed now (a Steam configuration parameter was not updated after the save format change).

Thanks Lt_Miles. I was worried I would be relying on a flash drive a bit more than I desired.
