Can I share my mod on Steam?

Good day!

I had a big trouble with interface on my iMac 5k display - it is so small (and with "big interface option" too)

So... I modified game files and added special features:

1. Game will scale interface by the parameter from command line arguments (or, by default, uses 1.5 scale with "big ui option")

2. Game will scale all fonts by the parameter from command line arguments

So, I have good interface and can read all I see and have maximum screen game resolution. Now I am working on replacing default game fonts to system (I think it will more readable for me)

My question is - can I post my modification on Steam (I am playing on Steam version of Endless Legend)? I do not used standard tools for modding, just modificated game code, so if you say "no, we do not want to allow our players to install code modifications" I will save this mod for me only

PS Thank you for you game, it is interesting!

PPS sorry for my "engrish" :D

The better place for modding questions is sub-forum modding, I think.

You're welcome.

The Endless legend community patch (ELCP) I made is a large scale mod that modifies the games core file (see here), and devs have recognized it it from the beginning, so I dont think they have a general issue with mods done outside of the "official" framework. The question would be rather, how sensible it is do use the steam workshop for this, as the user would still have to manually move files in the correct folders. I personally opted for releasing it and promoting it through these forums and the r/EndlessLegend subreddit instead.

Thank you for answer but I want to see something from official support team. Also, I do not found your mod on Steam (workshop or guidelines or main discussion). Some questions about it - does your mod support the latest game version and without all dlcs? and, can you integrate my changes (or give me a link for your project on git-hub, for example)?

The mod isnt on the steam workshop for the reasons I stated: Users would have to fiddle with files anyway, might aswell offer them in a user friendly installer format over forums/reddit.

There is no up to date github repository. This is to a large part my fault. When I started this project I was very inexperienced and just started "hacking away" at the code via DNSpy. What this means is, that the code changes of ELCP are basically completely uncommented (as DNSpy doesnt allow for comments). I can upload the code to github - I did it in the past aswell - however people typically dont find huge chunks of undocumented code very useful.

The mod supports (only) the current version of EL, its DLC agnostic (meaning you can use it with any combination of dlc). Integrating your changes would be possible, but I would have to see first how functional they are in practice. If you are interested in this kind of collaboration it would probably be better to talk directly, for example in my discord channel.
