Is there an error log you can upload? It would be in C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Endless Legend then a folder with a date for a name.

The error is this:

System.TypeInitializationException: An exception was thrown by the type initializer for Mono.CSharp.CSharpCodeCompiler ---> System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Windows mono path not found: D:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\mono\mono\mini\mono.exe

This error has come up before on Endless Space 2. You can read one thread about it here. In that case he fixed it by changing the galaxy density. Endless Legend doesn't have a galaxy density setting, but you could try changing some other map settings to see if one fixes it.

This could be caused by not having Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2. You can download it here.

If you are missing Mono you can also try installing it then copying the Mono folder to steamapps. You can find the installer for Mono here.

Some more potential fixes:

Copy mono from the folder it was installed into (in program files) to where the game is looking for it.

Set "-force-opengl" in the Steam launch options. To do so, right click the game in Steam, go to properies, then click on "Set Launch Options...".

Installing C++ Redistributables (vcredist). It can be found here: x86 (32 bit OS) x64 (64 bit OS)

Update to latest Windows 10
