Game Sends Host Back to Menu When Starting MP Game

Whenever I attempt to host a multiplayer game, it gets stuck on "Launching Game" and then kicks me back to the menu (the other players get a message that the host disconnected). This is on both of my Windows 10 PCs. Some of my friends who use Windows 10 PCs as well also get the same issue.I have researched this online and have tried everything:

-Verifying game data
-Running  EL as administrator every time

-Toggling off Read-only

-Adding EL to the firewall exception

-Adding EL worldgeneration to the firewall exception

-Adding new Inbound and Outbound rule in Windows Defender Firewall Advanced Security

Nothing we've tried have fixed anything. Note that this is only for hosting a game, we can still join others' multiplayer games with no issue. The game is great, but it multiplayer unplayable unless I have a friend who is able to host a game.

Edit: After looking at the logs and resetting them then starting a new hosted game and looking at errors, I believe that this error is the reason this issue is happening:

An error has occurred while loading the new technique. Sharing violation on path C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Endless Legend\Temporary Files\55c14a41-b327-4003-9f2a-2dfc2eccfd1e\Default_V1.geo

I'd try to restart my router this case. Another idea would be to install the Endless Legend Community Patch (ELCP), what you can find in this forums modding area. Keep in mind, each player joining a multiplayer game would have to install ELCP, to be able to play together.

We're all already using ELCP. We've tried without it as well. The router has nothing to do with this. The problem occurs on every WiFi, in multiple states, even in a different country. And it's only when hosting. I've tried it nonetheless, no change.

Your log entry mentions a sharing violation, have you tried deactivating antivirus or possible cloud sync software like dropbox or google drive? Its possible these programs access the temporary files while they are created (for scanning/sync purposes) which can cause issues. Alternatively you can try to deleting the "Temporary Files" folder in "C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Endless Legend\ " Then start the game a new (without admin rights), EL should create a new version of the folder which hopefully has the correct rights.

Oh wow. That...worked. I had GDrive backing up all my save files and EL is the only game that had a problem with it. After turning it off, it seemed to work! Thank you!
