Various bugs and design problems noted in my first run through the game

1- Historical Society tech appears to not be working, or at least not working as described.



2- Hero inspect screen needs a scroll bar for the capacities description area- current system only allows the first 11 descriptions to be read.



3- Delusions of grandeur quest has no reward



4- Mithrite Tome appears to not be working



5- During battle hitting the reset units to default deployment button when they were already in default gave an error message and locked the game.



6- Heroes who had centaurs in their army appear to gain the trait winter immunity (full movement) for the rest of the game regardless of what units are in the army thereafter.



7- Heroes should be able to swap equipment.



8- AI would be much more effective in combat if it concentrated attacks on a single target when possible rather than each unit individually choosing a target.

Hello there,



1. I do not reproduce the issue you describe. After unlocking the techno I can search again the ruins I already searched, as it is intended.



2. I see no hero who can have more than 11 capacities but I can see some modding reasons behind such a request. I will mention it and see what we can do.



3. Bug has been fixed and should be ok in next version.



4. I still need to have a look at that.

[Edit] There are even more tomes which seems to have problems. It has been noted on our side and we will fix this asap.



5. Got it. Thanks. I will open a bug on this one if it is not already reported on our side.



6. I also need to look at that.



7. In terms of design, they can swap equipement but only in safe territory.



8. There are still some improvement to do on AI, I will mention that too to the developers currently working on this.

Thanks for your response-



1. Okay, I'll try again on my next run and take screens if the problem persists.



2. Some heroes start with 7 capacities, then add 2 each for weapon and shield, and one each for cuirass and up to 4 accessories = 16 total. Yeah, I can unequip all the existing armor and accessories to see the description of anything unfamiliar then hit reset changes- but a scroll bar would make a lot more sense.



7. Okay, how? Maybe I just wasn't clear. I want to be able to swap equipment from one hero to another. I wanted to swap one battle hero out for a city hero. I was able to trade the tomes for insignias and visa versa on each hero with no problems, but when I wanted to also swap the upgraded weapons and armor from the current battle hero to the new one I wound up losing the existing equipment and had to purchase everything over again- and it wasn't cheap!



8. One other AI problem/Balance issue I've noted is that if an AI faction starts in a region with Kazanji natives and doesn't pacify them fairly early on, the natives will over-run them in fairly short order. This minor faction isn't actually all that over-powered by mid-game, but early on they're down-right nasty. Maybe tune down their aggression a bit for the first 50 turns or so?



9- New Item- I've noticed that ruins don't give consistent results when reloading. This is an open door to cheating, ie- if you don't like the results of a search, reload and try again. I know rewards scale as the game progresses, but one way to maintain consistent results on a reload and still have rewards that scale over time would be to use a look-up table. Assign every ruin a set value (roll) when the map is generated. When the ruin is actually visited that roll is used and the result is scaled to the current progress level.



10- New Item- The game just handed me an irrecoverable crash. There was no error message, but it hangs at the same point on reload even after restarting my computer. It might have to do with an invalid counter, as a winter cycle had just started and the counter on the previous turn was down to (1-1). The counter at the start of this turn showed as (1-0). I got the winter splash screen normally, but then got attacked by some roaming monsters. It hangs as soon as I click "start battle".

1- Had the same error with the historical society tech. It does refresh some of the most recently explored ruins, but not the ones explored long ago. In this run the 17 most recently visited ruins refreshed, 55 others did not.



6- The winter immunity (full movement) bug doesn't appear to be connected to centaurs. I wasn't using centaurs in this run and two armies had full movement during winter. I don't know what the cause is, but running a check on every army at the start of every turn during winter should fix it.



General observation- By far the biggest problem with the AI is factions failing to pacify minor races. Even on impossible difficultly the game in its current iteration is very easy to beat mainly as a result of this.
