In 0.7.4, I ran into an issue where suddenly my hero's gear reset back to tier 1. Further to that, trying to change the gear thereafter always fails. In the Diagnostics log, I continually get the following error:



"Order preprocessing failed because the equipment is invalid."



when trying to equip my hero. I've attached my save game in case it is helpful. Play the Roving Clans. I have two heroes. Both heroes are unable to modify their equipment. I have tried reloading the game and the issue persists.



As for how this happened, I believe it is related to an issue that came up when I hired my second hero. At the time my first hero had both Breakwall and a xbow relic equipped. When I hired my second hero and began to equip him, I noticed that Breakwall was an option to equip. I'm still somewhat new to the game and I thought maybe relics could be equipped on multiple heroes, so I equipped it on my second hero not realizing that it would remove it from the other hero. From that point on, I could no longer see the Breakwall relic available to my first hero and any attempts to unequip it from my 2nd hero would fail - actually any equipment changes would fail. It seemed to work just fine before my second hero was hired though. That's just anecdotal info though since I have no way to go back and validate that statement (don't have those saves).

I have a similar issue as the Broken Lords. I had equipped a relic shield to my hero. Then later I equipped some staff looking relic. The second relic kept failing to equip though, going back to the previous set of equipped items. It wasn't until later I noticed nothing else could be equipped on that hero either. I attached a save file of that game.

Thanks for the save files! We will investigate the issue.

Might be tied in to quest-given or found special items - I did not have a problem when sticking to the standard stuff.

Except for the accessories, which I had to de-equip to see the advanced versions and then could re-equip.

I experienced the exact same bug and in my case it was also tied to unique/quest items.

Once I removed the unique items first, then clicked "Apply" and then opened the hero-tap once more I was able to equip my hero as usual.

I agree, i experienced it, and it's always linked to unique/quest items.

When you remove them, you can then update the equipment of your hero, you save, come back, and equip the unique/quest item again.

Problem is that you spend the ressource each time you put it back.



Also i want to add that, because of this issue, your hero can only equip one unique/quest object at a time.

In my save game I actually had 2 quest items equipped and unequipping never worked for me. It simply wouldn't unequip. After hitting apply and reediting my hero it was back in the same slot. It's possible I exacerbated the bug and got it into an irrecoverable state, but either way it severely limits the hero once you hit the bug in the form that it took in my save game.
