So I finally convinced my friends to buy endless legend during the latest sales and we had a blast with our first game (without dlc).
We just started another one where I activated every dlc except symbiosis. One of them is playing Morgawr and everyone except me is seeing weird purple textures.

We reproduced this bug several time and it seems that every dlcs asset are appearing purple to them. Is it normal, as they do not own the dlc, or is the game not behaving as intended ? 

I am having the same issue.

I play with my brother, he has all the DLC and I only have Tempest.

DLC races I don't own have messed up textures, and certain ones (Kapaku, Mykara) have completely bugged out character models.

It's a real big problem because I cannot play as any of the DLC races. If I go to the character screen for my hero or units (where it shows a zoomed in model) the model is missing and the game locks up where I can no longer click off the window, essentially crashing my game.

We tried using only races I actually purchased but when I unlocked the mercenary market, I was interested in a Mykara hero so I went to the character inspect screen and I experienced the same bug that locked up my game.

Seems to only affect players that don't actually own the DLC as my brother's game works perfectly.

I hope they can figure this out and fix the bug because we really wanted to get into some Endless Legend after the new DLC came out.

We are also getting this bug as well. We noticed it the same as you: anyone without the DLC would not be able to see the generic textures of models from DLC they didn't own, which hadn't happened ever before until the newest update, and we've been playing with the same players since the first DLC was released.

Additionally, we noticed that the Kapaku and (sometimes) the Mykarra would do something different: their models would ALSO be messed up, not just the textures (see below). This happened to players who DID have the correct DLC installed too, which is even more confusing. Trying to edit the equipment on the "deformed" models would also lock the player in the unit editing page with no way out, being forced to alt F4 the game to escape.

Still fixed in latest ELCP (Endless Legend Community Patch). To be found and downloaded in Modding area this forum.

Yo, I checked out the community patch you mentioned and I'm blown away by all the work that's put into it. I'm going to talk to my brother and we aren't normally the modding types but we will probably download this and check it out simply so we can play the game again, as it doesn't look like this bug is a very high priority to be fixed at this time.

Do you know if we can apply the mod and continue playing a save game that we already have made, or will that cause issues? Also I assume that both of us will need to have the mod installed to be able to play together at all.

1) Not 100% sure about, but I think it should work. Anyway, feel free to ask LeaderEnemyBoss himself.

2) You both need to have the ELCP installed to make use of it.
