5.1 Sound: Is it possible?

Hello everyone!

I have bought the game today and am enjoying it a great deal!

However, it seems it is not playing any sound in my rear speakers. Please tell me there is a way to enable this. It think games like this would be GREAT in 5.1 sound, as it would immerse you that much more!

If it isn't in the game now, please listen to the plea of a brand new fan: Implement 5.1 sound in this game!

Sound is software 3D - Stereo, 2.1, 5.1 or even 7.1. It just changes to suit whichever setup you have.

Well, I have a 5.1 set-up. It is configured in both my sound-card and Windows that it is 5.1. Still, there is no sound coming from the rear speakers.

Same here. I already reported this 'issue' about the lack of 5.1 sounds in game. It is shame because sounds and musics are so great in EL.

Maybe it is a in-game sampler problem or maybe this feature is just not here I dont know.

Is there anyone who knows if we can force-enable 5.1 sound or something?

I have noticed that the brand-movies DO play in 5.1, while the Main Menu reverts back to Stereo...

I would greatly appreciate any help

Hey guys, I talked to our audio designer and programmer, and 5.1 wasn't implemented because of issues with sound mixing and music at the time. Re-mixing the game sounds at this stage would be a really big task, especially with the audio team having been working almost exclusively on Endless Space 2.

Hope the audio team intergrates 5.1 sound in Endless Space II. The sound and effects in Endless Legend are really cool, so it makes me sad to not have... :(

Frogsquadron, I appreciate you finding an answer to our question! It's not exactly the answer we'd hoped for, but it means a lot to know that our concerns aren't falling on deaf ears.
