Crash when loading up multiplayer save

Issue: Whenever we load a multiplayer save, the game crashes. Usually this crash will occur after we join the lobby and don't see any player in the lobby. Then, when we load up we are met to the wrong faction screen (ex. I choose drakken yet the loading screen is that of the cultists). Then mid way into loading it pops up this error message:



NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Notes: We have one mac player if that helps at all. Also we are using the Guardians and Shadows expansions.

Curious to see if that happens without your Mac friend joining, as Mac users (on El Capitan) are reporting issues creating games, which could be linked.
