Now I know you might be thinking, "That's because your drivers are outdated or your GPU is bad." Not really, I have a pretty new GPU that can run a lot of new games at medium - high performance and all my drivers are updated. Nvidia Experience says so.

What happens is, when I play the game on any mode, single player(new game) or MP, the game has perfect frame-rate for about 2 seconds when the world loads then it just drops to no end. The game is slightly to very stutery and laggy.

I believe I managed to "fix" the problem when I brought my PC downstairs and connected it to my router via ethernet. I booted up the game, the main menu has perfect frames. Oh great. I load up a game, single player, and the frames are perfect. I can run it at the 'Fantastic' video option with no problems.

Now I'm just saying this because I can't have my PC downstairs every hour of every day because the router is in the living room and, well, everyone watches TV there, I just managed to nag the time when everybody was out. I'm back upstairs with my shitty internet connection and the game is lag. I don't think that's a coincidence.

Does the game rely on a good internet connection to run at amazing frames? It wasn't like that before. I used to run it at max settings before idk when. I just hopped back on it a few days ago after a few months break and I find out about this.

Is this a bug or something intentional?

I was only thinking "the description is not bad, but this help request is lacking all the elements we'd need to help". lol

Can you give us the following:

Specs - Share your specs with us! Your OS, screen resolution, etc. A DXDiag would be preferable, just put it in between spoiler brackets.

Version - What is the game version? You can find this out in the game menu, at the bottom left of the screen

Output_log.txt

[PC] [Steaminstalldir]/Steamapps/Common/Endless Legend/EndlessLegend_Data/output_log.txt

[MAC] via the OSX Console - /Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log

Diagnostics.html -

[PC] [Documentsdir]/Endless Legend/Temporary Files/Diagnostics*.html

[MAC] Diagnostics.*.html - Library/Application Support/EndlessLegend/Temporary Files/

Thanks for helping us help you. smiley: smile

Haha, of course. Sorry for the lack of info, was just slightly ticked that the game is running slow. It's really one of the games I truly enjoy.

Here's the DXDiag info

DxDiag.txt

Didn't know what you needed exactly from the DXDiag so I just put everything there for you~

The game version is V1.2.2 S3 (614-Bit)

Output log as requested - output_log.txt

Diagnostics per request - I can't upload the Diagnostics.html's because the file uploader said it's an invalid file. Is there another way I can show you the files? There are 4.

Also, I found out the issue isn't because I have a bad internet connection as I made an arrangement to move the router upstairs beside my room. Guess it was just a big coincidence it decided to play super well when it was connected via ethernet. Guess it must be something with the game or my PC, hrm?

Edit : Opened the HTML's via chrome, hopefully the links work for you.

Haha, sorry for the lack of info. Didn't know what I needed to provide. Also, I found out the problem isn't with the internet, but something else. I looked inside my PC tower to see nothing was wrong except that below the fan there was hardly any thermal paste. Maybe that could be the cause of the game slowing down?

As for the info you need, right here.

DxDiag.txt That's the DXDiag file.

Game version - 1.2.2 S3 (614-bit)

output_log.txt - The output log text.

For some reason, I couldn't upload the diagnostics.html's with your file uploader. They're in Chrome format. I also tried putting them in notepad format but that didn't work either. Is there another way I can send the files to you?

I've taken a look at your DXDiag just in case (I have absolutely zero trust in GeForce Experience to tell you when to update drivers), and I see that while everything drivers-wise is ok, you're packing Win10, which could be a source of issues.

I'd suggest first right-clicking the game icon on your desktop, and selecting "Run in compatibility mode for Windows 7" in the Properties=> Compatibility tab, because it wouldn't be the first time Unity and Windows wouldn't be getting along.

Next step would be trying the same as above, but after a clean boot to remove every other piece of software from the equation in case it interferes: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135

Let us know if there's any kind of improvement (or the opposite).

I followed the steps as instructed.

First I made Endless Legends run in compatibility mode for Windows 7. I launched the game to only have the same effects. Lag and horrid frame rate.

I then did a clean boot, following all the instructions on the Windows site you sent me, and the horrid frames were gone! smiley: biggrin I don't believe it was anything to do with windows 10 however. Maybe. Because this issue happened on Win8 as well before I upgraded when you replied with wanting my DXDiag info and such. Must be something with Windows naturally then.

So now it's just to activate things over time and see what's the issue.

Thanks Francois, I appreciate the help! smiley: smile

Have a good one,

Charles~

Let us know if you manage to isolate the program(s) causing the issue, it could be pretty useful if some other community people are running into the same issues, I could also add it to the troubleshooting thread in the stickies.

Enjoy your game! smiley: wink
