Clients fail to join game after host disconnects

Was playing a 4 player MP game when the host disconnected. Was dumped to the lobby, with me as host. Everybody readied up and we left the lobby. But the other players failed to show up on the loading screen, and the loading screen hanged on "Waiting for other empires":







Most recent autosave is attached in case it is of any use.

When that happens, I would advise going back to the main screen and reloading from the last save or something, did you try that? I'll pass the thread on to the team, but as usual with multiplayer games, we'd need files from every player. smiley: smile

In my experience, it usually works to reload from last save, although I didn't try in this instance. It can be difficult getting everybody back together after a ctrl-alt-delete.



Obviously I am unable to provide save files for other players-- I don't think I even remember their names.



Is it pointless for me to report any future cases of this happening?

I think logs could be handy (I'm not our producer so they might not, but can't hurt to add them), to see if some error or bad state was recorded that could explain the issue and help us avoid this stuck state. I'll ask our dearest Pikou. smiley: smile



EDIT : We're not sure what could be causing this, so I would say "please ask people to join their logs as well" if you don't mind, just in case there are some elements in there. Does that happen regularly or with a certain reproducibility?

I wouldn't call it reproducible. It's probably happened to me three or four times.
