Amplitude, have you considered making bug reporting easier?

Sorry for the assumptious title.

What I mean is, when a fatal error occurs ingame, there is simply a send button (and a cancel button), that sends all the relevant files and whatever directly to you. Maybe the button actually creates a post on the forum, which the user is then directed to, in case you want a dialogue (this however might make a lot of duplicate posts, so maybe not a good idea).

Something similar could be added for MP desyncs.

Gathering files from all those different locations every time something goes wrong is really draining on the user, especially if he/she is required to do it on multiple occasions.

Thanks for reading.

I agree, the "proper" bug reporting procedure involves getting several files all over the place. I cannot be arsed to do it for every little thing, but the problem is those little things tend to add up.

If there was a way to put several files into one bug reporting-friendly folder with one button, without exiting the game, then both sides would benefit from it.

I find this idea quite good, on its own. However, one should take data protection laws into account. AFAIK, the end-user should always be prompted to review and agree sending any kind of information. This needs to be properly implemented, but as I said, I think it's a good idea.

Perhaps an option to turn "automated" bug-reporting on or off should be added, so that users can easily opt in or out of this mechanism.

Maybe this is something for EL 2, though ?

These are interesting suggestions as far as reporting issues while joining elements are concerned. I'll pass these on to the right people, although I can't make any promises as to any such feature becoming a thing. Still, seems like a good idea. smiley: smile
