Constant "Display driver stopped responding" errors with 64-bit

I just got into Endless Legend, and had a great deal of trouble running the 64-bit version. At the "Fantastic" level, it was constantly interrupted by a black screen, followed by the "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" error, and then returned to normal. At the "Beautiful" level, it did so about every 10 minutes.

I tried out the 32-bit trunk, and that works just fine at "Fantastic," so it's not an overheat problem, it's something about the 64-bit program that my computer doesn't like.

I have no problem with other 64-bit and 32-bit games. Just this one. I've got a solution with the 32-bit, it plays cleanly, but I wanted to ask about the 64-bit because it seems like it doesn't run right.

Error message:
Event ID 4101: Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.
System:

Windows 10 1511 v10586 64-bit

EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 670, 2GB RAM

GeForce drivers v361.75 (the latest at this posting)

Intel Core i5-4670 CPU @ 3.40Ghz

16 MB RAM, XMP Timing, PC1600

Realtek on-board sound

ASUS Z87-A mainboard

Okay, I looked this up, and the answer for me was to change the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers
And add the following value:
DWORD: TdrDelay 0x00000008
This apparently gives the vid-card more time to respond, which is good. Now it runs just fine on Fantastic.

I also dropped the frame rate from 100 to 60, so that may have done it. I'm not sure which. It works now, and that makes me happy.

This is an normal problem on Windows 10, 8, 7 and Vista. And the error normally including nvlddmkm, iddmkm, ati2dvag, ati2cqag, ativpk, amd2dvag, amdkmdag and amdvpk, etc. And you can follow this article to solve it: Fix Windows 10 Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered.

Easily, you can do these things one by one to solve your problem.

Generally, there are several reasons causing this problem. Outdated display drivers, old or incompatible vedio card, too many programs running at the same time, etc. To solve this problem, the first thing is to find the reason.

If your problem is caused by one of the three reasons listed above, then follow the solutions below:

1. Update your display driver. You could do that in Device Manager, download from the manufacturer's web and install manually, or use a Third party tool like Driver Talent. You could choose one you prefer.

2. Close the running programs as many as possible.

3. Increase GPU processing time.

Actually, there are 10 methods to fix this issue. You could get more solutions from 'How to fix the display driver stopped responding and has recovered'. Hope you get rid of this headache soon. Good luck.
