Issue

Randomly the game will completely lock up my pc, screen freezes, sound hangs, no commands work anymore. It happens randomly, sometimes after 2 hours of playing, sometimes after 5 mins. Only way to get out of it is to hard-reset pc.

Have already tried updating every driver on my pc, including all the system ones, had this problem on windows 7 aswell as on windows 10. Updated bios, memtest. hdcheck, all passed without problems, no overheating issues either.

I see nothing out of the ordinary in your DXDiag. Lt.Miles perused your diagnostics and output logs and nothing there either.

Which steps of our Troubleshooting thread have you already tried, if any? smiley: smile

EDIT: Have you tried messing with your graphical options to see if it changed anything?

Tried every thing from the troubleshooting thread that applies to my system. As for graphics, played on the lowest settings for a while, no change sadly enough.

Do you play with any kind of software overlays? I know NVidia has some form of overlay in certain pieces of software. Possibly a clean boot could root out other software conflicts, so I recommend giving that a try. smiley: smile

Do you get this only with Endless Legend or with other games too ?

Do you use the system to play any resource-demanding games ?

Do you have any antivirus software installed ?

Did a complete clean reinstall of Windows 10, same stuff still happens only now it shows a blue screen before rebooting with MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION. Wich from googling would indicate that my hardware is faulty.

Did a memory, harddisk and gpu/cpu check but nothing came up. Do you have any idea what it could be or am i doomed to a life of Endless Crashing Legends?

@icarus86, Only have this issue with Endless Legend, use Nod 32, have 0 issues with other games.

The most common hardware problem is the RAM. Sometimes a module is not "fully compatible" with the MB / other installed modules, or it's simply bad.

Try to a MemTest : http://www.memtest.org/ or http://www.memtest86.com/

Regarding the AV : just to be 100% sure, you can try disabling it, but I doubt that it would help.

Ran Memtest for 5 hours, came up with 0 errors. After that ran the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool, also came up with 0 errors. Decided to use Prime 95 to stresstest the system and this is where it gets strange.

The moment the Blend test starts it goes well for about 30ish seconds then it completely freezes, tried it several times all the same result. Temperatures stay at a max of 75 for my cpu.

Is it my cpu or motherboard that is broken?

Honestly, I don't think it's either of them. 75 degrees is OK-ish, I get quite the same temps with my 4790K @ 4.8 GHz.

Blend checks a lot of RAM. I still think that's the issue.

I see you have 16 GB RAM. I guess it's in a 2x 8GB configuration ? Could you try removing one DIMM, and run Blend / Endless Legend again ?

I only have 1 stick of 8gb, but i guess i could go out and buy another, see if that is the issue, if it isnt would just mean i have 16gb anyhow.
