Hi, just chiming in to report the same problem. The pink screen appeared after installing Shifters, never had the problem before (I own all the DLC's). Removing the "-force-d3d11" launch option fixed the issue.

Here's the output log:

Appears to be a problem with loading shaders:

This custom render path shader needs to have at least 2 passes.

@SpoonJK

Mate, you are a miracle! I have changed the setting under BETA that you mentioned and worked like a charm!! Now everything is as it should be!

@icarus86 Thank you as well for all your advice. Hopefully, it will also help other people!

Cheers!

I was having the same pink-screen problem and spent hours trying all of the fixes listed here. The only thing I had changed from the last time I had played was turning on the option in the games settings menu to disable the intro movie. I was finally able to get the game to work again when I used steam to enroll in the 32-bit version for 64-bit players beta. The game runs again. I hope this helps.

Okay, turned off like a dozen processes, repeated all those steps but still no joy.

What I have also tried after that is connecting the laptop to a external monitor - no change and disabling the DLC Shifters and Tempest in order to try to start the game with all the addons until (and including) Shadows as i had no problem up to that point, but the pink screen is still there :(

Sorry to hear about that :(

Assuming that you're using up-to-date drivers, and there is no physical issue (which I think there isn't, otherwise you'd see pink stuff in other apps too), I'd suggest the following:

- try closing all other software running in the background (e.g. GeForce Experience, GAME System, other apps and tools)

- try disabling the Steam overlay

- try re-applying the fixes that others have reported in this thread

Hello icarus86!

Sorry for a late reply. I have performed a clean install of the latest drivers but the pink screen is still there.

Hi,

are you sure that your nVIDIA drivers are up-to-date?

Could you try doing a Custom Install / Clean Install of these drivers?

Hello everyone!

I have thoroughly read this post and tried all of the suggestions above but no joy, still pink.

I am running Windows 10. PC Specs:

Intel i7-3630QM @2.40GHz

16 GB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M

I have played all DLC's and vanila game fine until Shifters. Then I purchased them and Tempest together, started game and the screen happened. The game is not frozen, I hear music in the background and I can hear button clicking options but nothing changes.

Looking forward for some help! :)

Here is a dropbox link to the files. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4aj68ljaxlf8bt2/AAD46epfhVoI9RJ_mLJv_InKa?dl=0

Had a look at the files.

It mentions the same "System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Windows mono path not found: E:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\mono\mono\mini\mono.exe"

As suggested on another thread,

Do you have any special characters in your Windows User Account name ? (http://forums.amplitude-studios.com/showthread.php?495-SOLVED-End-of-turn-error-ArgumentException-Illegal-characters-in-path)

Could you try re-installing the .NET Framework ? (4.5.1 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40779 , 4.5.2 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42642)

Could you try re-installing the VC++ packages ? (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555 and https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632)

If nothing else works,

Could you try performing a "clean boot" ? https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135

I was also having the pink screen on game load. I was able to fix it by uninstalling and then reinstalling steam.

No issues with the tutorial.

Hi.

Everytime I try to start a tutorial it just takes me back to the main menu. I have tried all the workarounds I can find with no success. So I have reinstalled the game and now I get a pink screen when I start the game.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

Thanks.

Here are my computer specs.

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz

Video Card 1: AMD Radeon R9 200 Series

Video Card 2: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600

Memory: 16 GB

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (build 10586), 64-bit

Just thought I'd chip something in. I was having the same pink screen at the main menu after installing the shifters expansion and had tried as many of the common fixes (start in win7 mode, admin mode, reinstalled, verified integrity and so on) without success. Today though I saw something that reminded me that I had set 2 launch options; -novideo and -force-d3d11. I removed both of them and when I started up everything was showing as expected. Just to confirm I went back and set the force d11 option again and sure enough it caused the pink screen. So if anyone else runs into this just see if you've set that and remove it.

I have fixed the pink screen problem by reinstalling both steam and EL.

I have tried to play the tutorial with all my antivirus software disabled with no luck.

I am not overclocking, and I have no other problems with steam games.

OK, from what I understood, the behavior has changed since you reinstalled the game.

- could you try reinstalling EL again and/or verifying the game cache ? Maybe the last installation didn't go so well ...

- could you try reinstalling Steam ?

I'd try some more things :

- are you running any antivirus-software ?

- are you overclocking your graphics-card and/or CPU ?

- do you have any problems with other Steam games, or only with EL ?

Before I can tackle the tutorial problem I will need to get past the pink screen that keeps appearing when I start the game.

I tried all those and none of them have worked.

Saw another player with the same issue last night. Win 7 compatibility mode solved it right up for him, so my first suggestion would be to try that, as icarus86 suggested. smiley: smile

Your system is very similar to mine (i7-4790k, R9-290, 32 GB RAM), but I'm running Windows 8.1.

Is your AMD driver up-to-date ? I'm running 16.3.2 and not the latest 16.4.1 (beta).

Are you running the game as admin ? Or in "Windows 7" compatibility mode ?

Did you try performing a "clean boot" (http://www.thewindowsclub.com/what-is-clean-boot-state-in-windows) ?

Did you try granting "full control" to your user account to the "Documents" folder (C:\Users[YOURACCOUNT]\Documents\Endless Legend) ?

Did you try switching to the 32-bit version of the game ?
