We tend to have LAN party Civ IV BTS a couple of times a month. We fancy the game but we also like the companionship [andgoodfood] that goes with the party.

1. SO is LAN possible?

2. DO we need to be connected to Steam during play?

3. If so does it create confusion us all having the same DNS?

Thanks in advance for advice

No (offline that is), Yes and No.

All of Amplitude's games use the Steamworks API for muliplayer - which means everyone has to be signed into Steam (Online, not just offline) and connect to each other through Steam's master servers.

Can you play on a LAN? Yes - But you're all going to need internet and Steam access. No offline multiplayer.
