Identifying custom factions in multiplayer?

I've recently begun dipping my toes into EL multiplayer (after way too much EL single player) and have been a little surprised at the number of people who want to play with custom factions.

Even more surprising are the players who want to play with only their own custom factions and lock joining players into those factions.

Is there a way to identify what traits you or another faction have? Preferably, at the join game screen?

Ii is impossible to check what traits player choose befor game start. But u can always load save and look in imperial plan there u can check every traits.

Yeah like i write u must load save on slot with his faction than will see what he give.

- No, there is no way to identify what traits others custom civs have before the game has started.

- When he has started, you can see all the traits by an examination of each encountered faction, in the diplomatic information screen.

- There should be off course a view of any traits before playing (as there should be more option to ban the pick of certains custom traits by the creator of the game).

Can you explain how to do that? I'm not seeing it (I'm probably missing something simple).
