I have not (yet) that game.

I saw on the web that there is no "hot seat" mode.

However, I still give him a chance to seduce me:

When playing multiplayer (vs IA or internet) is it possible to play cooperatively (teams)?

I guess that nothing stops you from starting a MP game with a friend, and choose not to attack each other. If I'm not mistaking, you can also "trade" with him (resources, vision, etc.), but that'll cost you some influence points.

Not sure about having an AI allied by default. As I see it, the game is built with FFA in mind.

There is no in game set up for teams. You could host a game and divide teams before you start but it is imperfect (ie..you still have to tech into peace/alliance to get those benefits. Also armies will not reinforce your "allies").
