Hello,

I would like to be able to research the tier 2 and 3 weapons/armor for Palladium/Adamantium/Mithrite/Hyperium. Is there a mod out there that does this? I went through the workshop and didn't see one, so thought I'd ask here.

Alternatively, if there's someone who can just tell me how to change the base files (or create a mod) to do it myself, I would absolutely love and appreciate that. I have never modded before, but I'd love to learn, however, I downloaded the tutorial in this forum and...I can't really follow it.
Never done anything with coding, it's an interest though.

Thanks for your time.

There already is the ability to research tier 2 and 3 weapons/armour for palladium/adamantium and mithrite/hyperium. You unlock it by exploring ruins. (and since opposing players do not exhaust ruins by exploring them themselves, it just becomes trial and error)

I think he might mean research them through the tech tree as opposed to acquiring them from quests seen as it is pretty hard to get both the tier 3 palladium/adamantium and the tier 3 mithrite/hyperium and there is no guarantees that you will get both or even one of them(or he might not know about it but the fact that he doesn't shows that it isn't common). Otherwise it is possible to do through modding as some of the older mods did it however these aren't updated anymore and had quite a few more features aswell. Your best bet would be to hope a dev or someone with knowledge with how to do this replies because i don't know how although i would like a mod that did this aswell.

I'm aware you can get it from a quest, and out of 5 games on the largest map I've only seen 1 out of the 4 tier 3s. Exploring every ruin and then doing the research to be able to search again. Even if it was basically an Era VI cost research, it's something I could work towards, rather than hoping I get it from 1 ruin to the next game after game.

Turbo215, do you happen to know which older mods provide it? I understand that since they aren't updated there might be issues playing with the current version, however, I'm willing to at least try.

This mod https://www.games2gether.com/#/endless-legend/forum/15-modding/thread/5663-clarity-mod has the feature but hasn't been updated(for a very long time and almost defintely won't work so don't try it) i wouldn't use it as is however you might be able to check the files and see what the difference is (regarding the technologies) and see if you can modify your own games files to it (and then create a copy for when the game updates so you can copy and paste it to the new version or just compare and do it again) personally i think this is the best option but you would have to ask help for how to do it there are a few people who would be able to tell you how to do it but unfortunately i am not one of those unless you manage to figure out how to do it by yourself.

I tried looking yesterday, I can't make heads nor tails of the xml documents, I tried opening them and searching for the research name, never found it. It's alright though, I guess I'll make do without.

Thanks for your time!

You need to check the "DepartmentOfScience+Constructibles[Era5Technology]" xml files (possibly eras 4 and 6 as well), search the document for DefinitionWeapon and DefinitionArmor, and remove the "Visibility="VisibleWhenUnlocked" part in the tag. That should make the technologies show up on your research screen like any other ordinary technology.

I made such mode that topic starter looked for. Called "Hidden Alloys", available at Steam Workshop.

I know this is like 3 month old thread, but maybe you still looking for that.
