The goal is to allow the unit to be able to forgo the automatic counter attack when defending from a higher initiative unit. Instead, I'd like the unit to take damage normally, lose movement points (percentage or fixed, whatever), and then be able to perform movement commands but not attackcommands.
Adding this as a modification to the "defensive" command, as a an item with effect (duplicating & modifying the Free Counter item seems like a good spot?), or just as a baseline ability available to every unit all seem like fine options. ...that I can't do myself.
Tips on how to get my head around implementing this would be appreciated.
